Richard "Ritchie" Buckle (born 20 February 1960 from Dover, Kent) is a former English professional darts player, who played in Professional Darts Corporation events. He was nickname Uncle Fester. Career Buckle qualified for the 2004 PDC World Darts Championship, who defeating at the Last 48 to Jan van der Rassel of Netherlands and Steve Brown of United States in the Last 40, but he lost at the Last 32 stage to Dennis Priestley of England. The 2004 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship was the 10th anniversary of the PDC version of the World Darts Championship. The tournament took place between 27 December 2003 and 4 January 2004 at the Circus Tavern, Purfleet, England. An extra round was added, with the top 16 seeds given a bye to the third round, bringing the total players at the televised stages to 48. Ladbrokes, who sponsored the event initially for one year in 2003, decided to extend their deal and the prize fund was increased to £256,000. The Dutch television station, RTL 5 and Sky Sports both extended their deals with the PDC by three years. Steve Brown (born July 15, 1962) is an American former professional darts player who had the majority of his success during the 1990s, when he finished third at the inaugural Professional Darts Corporation's version of the World Championship in 1994 – after the majority of top players decided to separate from the British Darts Organisation. Career During that successful run in the 1994 PDC World Darts Championship Brown beat Kevin Spiolek, Keith Deller and Alan Warriner-Little, Alan Warriner to reach the last four before losing heavily 0-5 to Phil Taylor (darts player), Phil Taylor. He then beat Peter Evison 5-1 in the third/fourth place play-off, a feature which is no longer staged in the event. Dennis Priestley (born 16 July 1950) is an English former professional darts player. He won two world championships, and was the first player to win both the BDO and WDC (now PDC) world championships, in 1991 and 1994 respectively. He was nicknamed "The Menace", after the ''Beano'' character Dennis the Menace, and reflected this by wearing red and black and using red and black flights. Early career Born in Mexborough, West Riding of Yorkshire, Priestley was originally a coal merchant by trade, and did not enter professional darts until he was almost 40 years old.
