Rita Bahuguna Joshi (born 22 July 1949) is an Indian people, Indian politician and was cabinet (government), cabinet minister (government), minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh. She was the president (corporate title), president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee from 2007 to 2012. She is the daughter of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, a former Chief minister (India), chief minister of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. She joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 20 October 2016. Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (25 April 1919 – 17 March 1989) was an Indian National Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh; he later joined Bharatiya Lok Dal and worked with Charan Singh.
