Rising Stars F.C.
Rising Stars Football Club is a Nigerian football club based in Ondo City. They play in the third division in Nigerian football, the Nigeria Nationwide League. Their home stadium is Ondo City Stadium, but for some of the 2012 season they played games at Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti. History The club was originally a farm club to the major team Sunshine Stars F.C. They won the Nigeria Amateur League in 2009 and were promoted to the Nigeria National League. They placed second in their division in 2011 by one point to join their parent team at the top level of Nigerian football. After regulation in 2012, they self regulated further to the Nationwide League to save funds, but remained in the National League when fixtures were announced in December 2012. They were relegated at the end of the 2012–13 season after placing 14th of 15 teams. Nigeria Nationwide League
National Nationwide League Division One (formerly known as Nigerian Amateur League) is the third level of club football in Nigeria. Every year, up to eight teams are promoted to the Professional Division One. Starting in 2012, the league changed its name from the Amateur League and will promote three teams per division instead of two. This was after a long delay in confirming promotions from the prior year due to teams' protests. As the "largest grassroots league in the world", promotion and relegation are not guaranteed. Most of the teams are sponsored by private citizens or Local Govt. Areas and funding at this level is minimal. Any team eligible to move to the National Division 1 must qualify for a Professional League license and commit to the increased spending. After the 2007/08 season Dankalat FC of Kano won promotion, but instead sold their slot in Division 1A to Calabar Rovers. Ondo City
Ondo Town is the second largest town in Ondo State, Nigeria. Ondo Town is the trade center for the surrounding region; commercial crops such as yams, cassava, grain, tobacco and cotton are grown, the latter of which is often used to weave a culturally significant cloth known as Aso Oke fabric, which is commonly used to make clothing amongst the local population. Ado-Ekiti
Ado Ekiti is the capital city of Ekiti State, Nigeria. It is the Headquarters, headquarter of the Ekiti central senatorial district, Points of the compass, southwest, Nigeria. History Ado Ekiti is an ancient city, founded by Ewi Awamaro the son of Biritikolu. Nigeria National League
The Nigeria National League (NNL) (formerly the National Division 1) is the second-highest overall in the Nigerian football league system after the Nigeria Premier Football League, and is currently contested by 46 clubs. Each season, four teams are promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League, via NNL Super 4/NNL Super 8. The twelve lowest-finishing teams in the Nigerian National League are relegated to Nigeria Nationwide League. Rodolfo Zapata
Rodolfo Zapata (born 1 May 1966) is an Argentine Football Association and CONMEBOL PRO license coach. He is a dual citizen of Argentina and the US. Rodolfo "Rolo" Zapata has a good track record as a coach in United States, Canada, Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Rwanda, Fiji and Jamaica.
