Vadodara (), also known as Baroda, is the second largest city in the Indian state of Gujarat. Tushar Arothe
Tushar Bhalchandra Arothe (born 17 September 1966) is a former Indian first-class cricketer who played for Baroda cricket team between the 1985/85 and 2003/04 seasons. He was the first player and is one of the two players to have appeared in more than 100 matches for Baroda. He became a cricket coach soon after his retirement. Career Arothe played as an all-rounder who batted left-handed and bowled right-arm off break. He appeared in 114 first-class and 51 List A matches in a career that spanned 18 years between 1985/85 and 2003/04. He also captained Baroda in several matches and made appearances for the West Zone cricket team. He was the first player to play more than 100 matches for Baroda. With 107 appearances Arothe is second on the list of most appearances for Baroda, only one less than Connor Williams. After his playing career, Arothe turned to coaching. Baroda Cricket Team
The Baroda cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the city of Baroda. The home ground of the team is the Moti Bagh Stadium on the palace grounds. The team is run by the Baroda Cricket Association. It has been one of the most successful teams in the Ranji Trophy in the new millennium. Baroda were runners-up in the 2005/06 Ranji Trophy. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. 2015–16 Ranji Trophy
The 2015–16 Ranji Trophy was the 82nd season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament in India. It was contested by 27 teams divided into three groups of nine teams each. The top three teams from Groups A and B advanced to the quarterfinals along with the top two teams from Group C. For this season the schedule splits into two stages, the first is a league stage and the second being a knock-out stage. The league stage starts on 1 October 2015 and ends on 4 December 2015 and the knock-out stage starts on 3 February 2016 and ends on 28 February 2016. The 2015–16 Ranji Trophy will be followed by the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. The final was contested by Saurashtra and Mumbai, a repeat of the 2012–13 final. 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy is the 14th season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a List A cricket tournament in India. It was contested by 27 domestic cricket teams of India.
