''Rise'' is the tenth album by the Finnish rock band The Rasmus, released on 23 September 2022. It is their first album after five years of inactivity, as a continuation of their previous album ''Dark Matters (The Rasmus album), Dark Matters'' (2017). Background Following the Dark Matters tour, the band held a series of concerts to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of their breakthrough album ''Dead Letters''. Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, they released the heavily pop-influenced "Holy Grail". Subsequently, two more songs were released during the pandemic, "Bones" in early 2021 and "Venomous Moon" at the end of the year, another collaboration with Apocalyptica. The Rasmus is a Finnish Pop music, rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school.Main source of the band's history: The original band members were Lauri Ylönen (founder, frontman, lead singer-songwriter), Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1999 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. Apocalyptica is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Helsinki, formed in 1993. The band is currently composed of three classically trained cellists Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, and Perttu Kivilaakso. Lauri Johannes Ylönen (born 23 April 1979) is a Finnish singer-songwriter, best known as the co-founder and frontman of the Finnish alternative rock band The Rasmus. Biography The Rasmus When he and Heinonen started at Suutarila high school in the early 1990s, they met Pauli Rantasalmi and later Janne Heiskanen. Ylönen initiated the project of The Rasmus (then called just "Rasmus") in 1994, along with Eero Heinonen ( bass) Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar), and Jarno Lahti (drums), with Lahti subsequently being replaced by Heiskanen. First, they called themselves Trashmosh, then Anttila, and at last Rasmus. They played their very first show before the winter break in school, 1994. They played songs with a style of rock and funk. ''Black Roses'' is the seventh studio album by the Finnish rock band The Rasmus, which was released on 29 September 2008 in the UK. Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "Jezebel" written by Lauri Ylönen and Desmond Child, and performed by The Rasmus. The Finnish participating broadcaster, (Yle), organised the national final ''2022'' in order to select its entry for the contest. Seven entries were selected to compete in the national final on 26 February 2022, where the combination of votes from seven international jury groups and votes from the public selected the winner. Finland was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2022.
