Paolo Gamba
Paolo Gamba (29 October 1712 – 26 December 1782) was an Italians, Italian painter of the late Baroque period, active in the region of Molise. He is considered one of the most important and greatest painters from Molise. Biography Paolo Gamba was born into a poor family in 1712 in Ripabottoni. His father, Giambattista, was a modest decorator and painter and Paolo continued his father's activity. With the help of the bishop of Larino, the young man was admitted to the school of Francesco Solimena in Naples, where he stayed from 1731 to 1737, forming his artistic technique. Back in Molise he had an intense career travelling around the towns, working for the clergy and his patron, the Bishop of Larino. His production was mainly focused on sacred subjects which he deepened by studying the Bible. Sant'Elia A Pianisi
Sant'Elia a Pianisi is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Campobasso in the region of Molise, about northeast of Campobasso. As of 31 December 2021, it had a population of 1,585 and an area of .All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat. Near Sant'Elia, is the Occhito Lake. The neighbouring comuni are Bonefro, Carlantino, Colletorto, Macchia Valfortore, Monacilioni, Ripabottoni and San Giuliano di Puglia. The local dialect is Molisano. History Until the Unification of Italy in 1861, Sant'Elia a Pianisi was within the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. In the 15th century a natural disaster forced the population of Pianisi to move to the lower parts of the abbey, later renamed, Sant'Elia a Pianisi. Tony Volpentest is a paralympic athlete from the United States competing mainly in category T44 sprint events. Tony competed at three paralympics for the United States team winning four gold medals and a silver medal. His first games were in the 1992 Summer Paralympics where he broke the world record in the 100m and 200m and was part of the United States 4 × 100 m relay team that finished 0.02 seconds behind the world record setting Australians. At the 1996 Summer Paralympics he again competed in the 100m and 200m and defended both titles with another world record in the 100m. Bonefro is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Campobasso in the Italian region Molise, located about northeast of Campobasso. Bonefro borders the following municipalities: Casacalenda, Montelongo, Montorio nei Frentani, Ripabottoni, San Giuliano di Puglia, Sant'Elia a Pianisi, Santa Croce di Magliano. Arturo Giovannitti
Arturo M. Giovannitti (; January 7, 1884 – December 31, 1959) was an Italian-American union leader, socialist political activist, and poet. He is best remembered as one of the principal organizers of the 1912 Lawrence textile strike and as a defendant in a celebrated trial caused by that event. Early life Arturo Giovannitti was born in 1884 in Ripabottoni, in what is now the Province of Campobasso, Italy, at the time part of the Abruzzi but now part of Molise. He immigrated to Canada in 1900 and, after working in a coal mine and railroad crew, began preaching in a Presbyterian mission. He soon came to the United States, where he studied at Union Theological Seminary. Although he did not graduate, he ran rescue missions for Italians in Brooklyn and Pittsburgh.
