Rio Grande Valley Sol
The Rio Valley Grande Sol were a professional indoor American football, indoor football team based in Hidalgo, Texas. They were members of the X-League Indoor Football (XLIF) in their final season. The Sol played their home games at the State Farm Arena (Hidalgo, Texas), State Farm Arena. They were founded in 2014 as members of the Lone Star Football League but withdrew their team from the league after being taken out of the championship game unfairly after their inaugural regular season. The Sol were the third indoor football team to call Hidalgo home, following the Rio Grande Valley Dorados which played in af2 from 2004 to 2009. The second was the Rio Grande Valley Magic, which played in the Southern Indoor Football League in 2011 and in the Lone Star Football League from 2012 until their franchise charter was revoked in 2013. Lone Star Football League
The Lone Star Football League (LSFL) was a regional professional indoor football minor league that played three seasons from 2012 to 2014. All of the LSFL's charter teams were based in the state of Texas, with five teams coming from the Southern Indoor Football League, three from the Indoor Football League, plus one expansion team. The LSFL played three seasons to completion before merging with the Champions Professional Indoor Football League in August 2014 to form Champions Indoor Football. Individual player salaries were varied in the LSFL, with a total $3,000 team salary cap per game, which averaged between $100 and $450 per player. Leo Araguz
Leobardo Jaime Araguz (born January 18, 1970) is a former American football punter in the National Football League (NFL) for the Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks. He also was a member of the Rhein Fire, New York/New Jersey Hitmen and Rio Grande Valley Sol. He played college football at Stephen F. Austin State University. Early years Araguz attended Harlingen High School in Harlingen, Texas, where he began playing football and was a four-year starter at kicker and punter. As a senior, he contributed to the team winning a Class 5A Championship. He also competed in soccer. College career Araguz accepted a football scholarship from NCAA Division I-AA Stephen F. An athletic conference is a collection of sports teams which play competitively against each other in a sports league. In many cases conferences are subdivided into smaller Division (sport), divisions, with the best teams competing at successively higher levels. Conferences often, but not always, include teams from a common geographic region.
