Rino Albertarelli
Rino Albertarelli (8 June 1908 – 21 September 1974) was an Italian comics artist and illustrator. He was born in Cesena. He moved to Milan in 1928, debuting in 1935 for the comics magazines ''ArgentoVivo!'' and ''L'Audace''. Two years later he moved to Mondadori, for which he created his most famous character, Kit Carson, as well as the series ''Dottor Faust'' and ''Gino e Gianni''. He also worked on "Il Corsaro Nero" for '' Paperino e altre avventure''. After the war he slowed his activities as a comic artist, only making a few Emilio Salgari's adaptations for the magazine ''Salgari'' and collaborating with some French magazines. In the 1950s Albertarelli abandoned comics to focus on his activity as illustrator. After a long hiatus, he returned to comics in 1973 with Daim Press' series ''I protagonisti del West'' (also known just as ''I protagonisti''), with which he collaborated until his death in Milan in 1974. Cesena (; rgn, Cisêna) is a city and '' comune'' in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, served by Autostrada A14, and located near the Apennine Mountains, about from the Adriatic Sea. ''L'Audace'' (Italian for "The Bold") was a weekly children and comic magazine published in Italy from 1934 to 1944. History and profile Founded by Lotario Vecchi in January 1934, the magazine was published by S.A.E.V, except for a short time in which it was published by Mondadori. For its first sixty issues, it did not include comics, but only columns and illustrated short stories and novellas. It had initially a good commercial success, with an average circulation of about 180,000 copies per week. It introduced to the Italian audience several successful American comic series, notably Superman, Tarzan, Brick Bradford, Mandrake the Magician. Arnoldo Mondadori Editore () is the biggest publishing company in Italy. History The company was founded in 1907 in Ostiglia by 18-year-old Arnoldo Mondadori who began his publishing career with the publication of the magazine ''Luce!''. Sergio Bonelli Editore (formerly CEPIM and other names) is a publishing house of Italian comics founded in 1940 by Gian Luigi Bonelli (1908–2001).
