Tatar ( ; or ) is a Turkic languages, Turkic language spoken by the Volga Tatars mainly located in modern Tatarstan (European Russia), as well as Siberia. It should not be confused with Crimean Tatar language, Crimean Tatar or Siberian Tatar language, Siberian Tatar, which are closely related but belong to different subgroups of the Kipchak languages. Rinat Kedem (born 5 December 1965) is an American mathematician and mathematical physicist. Kedem graduated in 1988 with BA in physics from Macalester College. She received her PhD in physics in 1993 from Stony Brook University (the State University of New York at Stony Brook) with thesis advisor Barry M. McCoy. She was a postdoc from 1993 to 1995 at Kyoto University's Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences (RIMS), from 1995 to 1996 at the University of Melbourne, and from 1996 to 1997 at the University of California, Berkeley. At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, she was an assistant professor of mathematics from 1997 to 2001. In the mathematics department of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she was from 2001 to 2006 an assistant professor and from 2006 to 2012 an associate professor and is since 2012 a full professor. Rinat Valiev (born May 11, 1995) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing under contract with HC Almaty of the Pro Hokei Ligasy (KAZ). Valiev was selected in the third round (68th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Playing career Valiev was selected in the 1st round (3rd overall) of the 2012 KHL Junior Draft by Ak Bars Kazan. Rinat Mukatdisovich Mardanshin (; 24 December 1963 – 19 January 2005) was a Russian motorcycle speedway rider of Tatar ethnicity. He represented the Russia national speedway team and was four times champion of Russia. Career Mardanshin won the bronze medal at the Soviet Union championship in 1988. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union Mardanshin went on to win the Russian Championship for three consecutive years from 1996 to 1998. Rinat Ibragimov (born 7 May 1986 in Guryev, Kazakh SSR) is a Kazakhstani judoka (practitioner of the Japanese martial art of judo).
