Maria Grazia Francia
Maria Grazia Francia (17 September 1931 – 4 March 2021) was an Italian actress of classic cinema. Career Born in Florence, in the mid-1940s Francia moved to Rome to attend the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. She eventually left the course to star alongside Anna Magnani in Gennaro Righelli's '' Abbasso la ricchezza!''. Since then she appeared in several important films, directed by directors such as Luigi Zampa, Giuseppe De Santis and Mario Bonnard. She was also active on stage and on television dramas, before retiring from acting in the early 1970s. She died on 4 March 2021, at the age of 89 in Terni, Italy. Otello Toso
Otello Toso (22 February 1914 – 15 March 1966) was an Italian film and stage actor. Born in Padua, Toso graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in 1939 and immediately later he started his film career. He was particularly prolific in the 1940s, in films in which he usually starred negative characters. After World War II Toso mostly starred in melodramas and genre films, except for Juan Antonio Bardem's ''Death of a Cyclist''. He died at 52 in a car accident in Pieve di Curtarolo, near Padua. Linda Sini (13 February 1924 – 5 February 1999) was an Italian actress. She made 75 appearances between 1950 and 1979 and several appearances after this, mostly in film. Debuting in '' Sigillo rosso'' in 1950, she went on to star in films such as Luigi Zampa's comedy '' Anni ruggenti'' (1962), and the James Bond spy spoofs ''002 operazione Luna'' and '' A 001, operazione Giamaica'' (1965). Although primarily a film actress, she did appear in '' Joe Petrosino'' (1972) and in '' Il 90'' in 1979. In 1986 she appeared in ''Anemia''. Mirko Ellis
Mirko Ellis (4 September 1923 – 11 September 2014) was a Swiss-Italian film, stage and television actor. Born Mirko Korcinsky in Locarno to a family of Lithuanian origin, Ellis moved, after his studies, to Italy, where he made his film debut in 1946, in a critically acclaimed role in Aldo Vergano's neorealist drama '' The Sun Still Rises''. One year later, he debuted on stage in the theatrical company of Maria Melato. He later alternated important roles and character roles, in genre films and television productions. Ellis was married to fellow actress Esther Maring, with whom he lived in Alghero, Sardinia. On 11 September 2014, Ellis fell from the balcony of his fourth-floor apartment and died. Enzo Maggio (10 October 1902 – 13 July 1978) was an Italian actor. He was the oldest of the Maggio siblings. Born Vincenzo Maggio in Naples into a family of actors, Maggio made a long apprenticeship in the avanspettacolo theaters before and during the Second World War. Melodrama Film
In film studies and criticism, melodrama may variously refer to a genre, mode, style or sensibility characterized by its emphasis on intense and exaggerated emotions and heightened dramatic situations. Ignazio Balsamo (25 October 1912 – 7 August 1994) was an Italian film and stage actor. Life and career Born in Catania, Balsamo began his career on stage, being part of several Sicilian language theatrical companies. Discovered by Pietro Germi, who offered him a role of weight in the film '' In the Name of the Law'', following the success of the film Balsamo moved to Rome where he had a long film career as a character actor, mainly cast in roles of Sicilian criminals and villains. He also worked as a production coordinator and a production runner for the companies Fortunia Film and Romana Film.
