Rikki Nathanson
Rikki Nathanson (born ) is a Zimbabwean Transgender rights movement, transgender activist. She founded the organization Trans Research Education Advocacy and Training (TREAT) in 2015. After an arrest for entering a women's bathroom in Bulawayo in 2014, she filed a civil lawsuit for damages which she won in 2019. By that point, she had taken asylum in the US and she now lives in Maryland. Career and activism Rikki Nathanson (born ) studied at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, becoming a company secretary. After Transitioning (transgender), transitioning, she opened a modelling agency in 2005. Her activism started around 2007, when she joined the board of the Sexual Rights Centre. Casa Ruby
Casa Ruby was a non-profit organization and community center in Washington, D.C., that provided housing, food, and other social services to LGBTQ people, primarily transgender, and gender queer people. Casa Ruby was founded by Ruby Corado and first opened in 2012. The organization was bilingual, providing services in both English and Spanish. The organization ran a 50-bed emergency housing program across seven locations and a drop-in center, and, has a satellite office in El Salvador. In September 2021, Casa Ruby had over 100 employees, but its management said it would lay off more than half after the D.C. Department of Human Services (DHS) declined to renew an $850,000 grant. Corado had previously filed an administrative complaint alleging that DHS was engaged in anti-transgender discrimination.
