Riget
''Riget'' (English title: ''The Kingdom'') is a Danish absurdist supernatural horror miniseries trilogy created by Lars von Trier, co-written by von Trier with Niels Vørsel and co-directed by von Trier with Morten Arnfred. Set in the neurosurgical ward of Copenhagen's Rigshospitalet (, nicknamed "Riget", ), each episode of the show takes place over a single day, and follows the hospital's eccentric staff and patients as they encounter bizarre and sometimes supernatural phenomena. The series is notable for its wry humor, its muted sepia colour scheme, and the appearance of a chorus of dishwashers with Down syndrome, who discuss in intimate detail the strange occurrences in the hospital. The main theme's song was written by von Trier himself. Ernst-Hugo Alfred Järegård (12 December 1928 – 6 September 1998) was a Swedish actor. Biography Järegård was born in Ystad. He received his acting training at Malmö City Theatre. Baard Owe
Baard Arne Owe (3 July 1936, Mosjøen, Norway – 11 November 2017, aged 81, Copenhagen, Denmark), sometimes credited Bård Owe, was a Norwegian-born Danish actor who has acted in many Scandinavian films and TV series. He moved to Denmark in 1956, and there he lived and worked right up to his death. Owe is mostly known for his role as pathologist Dr. Bondo in the TV series '' Riget (The Kingdom)'', directed by Lars von Trier, as well as for his portrayal of Gertrud's young, manipulative lover in Carl Theodor Dreyer's last film, '' Gertrud'' (1964). Jens Dyhr Okking, (18 December 1939 – 21 January 2018) was a Danish actor, singer and politician. Jens Okking was mostly known outside of Denmark from Lars von Triers TV-series '' The Kingdom''. In Denmark, Okking was a notable actor for many years, both in theatre, films and TV series and he also worked as theatre director. Apart from his acting, Okking performed as a singer throughout his career, including many recordings with a variety of musicians, mainly from Denmark. He also used his voice to record several audiobooks, mostly for children, and in radio plays for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR). Morten Arnfred (born 2 August 1945) is a Danish film director and screenwriter. His 1983 film ''Der er et yndigt land'' was entered into the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival, where it won an Honourable Mention. Otto Herman Max Brandenburg (4 September 1934 – 1 March 2007) was a Danish musician, singer and actor. Career Music and Theatre He debuted in 1955 in the ensemble Four Jacks, but quickly became a soloist producing Danish rock. He then adapted his pop songs to folk music and jazz and became a popular actor. Brandenburg released records in Sweden and Germany under the name "Ole Brandenburg". In 1960, he unsuccessfully participated in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with the song "To Lys På Et Bord" (two lights on one board). In 1969, he began a new musical direction, setting his own lyrics to an American melody in the Christmas song "Søren Banjomus." In the 1970s he often worked with actress Vivi Bak. John Hahn-Petersen (4 November 1930 in Frederiksberg – 4 January 2006) was a Danish theatre, TV and movie actor. He made his debut in 1955 and starred in a number of productions, including ''Matador'', ''Landsbyen'', and ''Taxa''. In 2006 he had one of the leading roles in Henri Nathansen's '' Indenfor Murene'' at Det Kongelige Teater, Denmark.
