Riesending Cave Rescue
The Riesending cave (german: Riesending-Schachthöhle) is a pit cave in the Untersberg near Berchtesgaden, Germany and Salzburg, Austria. At 1,148 m it is the deepest and at 19,300 m the longest cave in Germany. It was discovered in 1996. In June 2014 it became well known because of a large effort to rescue a lead speleologist. Description The Riesending cave (German for "huge thing") is a pit cave in the Untersberg, near Berchtesgaden, Bavaria. At 23,800 m it is the longest and 1,148 m the deepest in Germany. Jochen Alexander Freydank is a German film director. Freydank has directed feature films, TV movies, commercials and stage plays, and won various awards, including an Academy Award for his short film '' Toyland'' in 2009. Jochen Alexander Freydank was born in 1967 in East Berlin. He started his career in the 1990s as an editor and assistant director for television and film productions. Tham Luang Cave
Tham Luang Nang Non ( th, ถ้ำหลวงนางนอน, lit=Great Cave of the Sleeping Lady, ) is a karstic cave system in the Tham Luang–Khun Nam Nang Non Forest Park, near the village of Pong Pha, in northern Thailand. It lies beneath Doi Nang Non, a mountain range on the border with Myanmar. On 2 July 2018, the cave was brought to international prominence when twelve members of a junior association football team and their assistant coach were found deep inside the cave. They had become trapped due to monsoonal flooding on 23 June. A rescue effort succeeded in bringing them out safely by 10 July. Two Thai rescue divers died as a result of the rescue. Tham Luang Cave Rescue
In June and July 2018, a junior association football team and their assistant coach were rescued from the Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai Province in northern Thailand. Twelve members of the team, aged 11 to 16, and their 25-year-old assistant coach entered the cave on 23 June after a football practice session. Shortly thereafter, heavy rainfall partially flooded the cave system, blocking their way out, and trapping them deep within. Efforts to locate the group were hampered by rising water levels and strong currents; and no contact was made for more than a week.
