Riek Schagen
Geertruida Hendrika (Riek) Schagen (15 November 1913 – 14 July 2008) was a Dutch stage, television and film actress well known for her role as housekeeper Saartje in the children's television series '' Swiebertje''. Schagen was also an artist, who specialized in painting and had her own gallery, named GaleRiek. She appeared in the 1958 film ''Fanfare''. Ciske The Rat (1955 Film)
''Ciske the Rat'' () is a 1955 Dutch drama film directed by Wolfgang Staudte, based on the Ciske trilogy by Piet Bakker. The film was remade in 1984 and turned into a popular musical in 2007. With 2,433,000 viewers it was the most popular Dutch film of all-time until surpassed a few years later by ''Fanfare''. The film was shown at the Venice Film Festival, where it won a Silver Lion of San Marco. It has also received an honorable mention from the Office Catholique Internationale du Cinéma. A German version has been made with other actors, titled ''Ciske: Ein Kind braucht Liebe'' (Ciske: A Child Needs Love). The film is based on the memoirs of Neel Doff (1858–1942) and was the most expensive Dutch film produced up to that time. ''The Silent Raid'' () is a 1962 Dutch war film directed by Paul Rotha. It is based on a true story from World War II: the raid on Leeuwarden prison of 8 December 1944. Without firing a shot, Dutch resistance members disguised as German SD and their prisoners entered the prison, freed 51 prisoners and vanished into the city. The Germans were unable to find any of the organizers or escapees. The film was entered into the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival, and was one of the most successful in the Netherlands (1,474,000 tickets sold). The screenplay was written by Loe de Jong.
