Riek Schagen
Geertruida Hendrika (Riek) Schagen (15 November 1913 – 14 July 2008) was a Dutch stage, television and film actress well known for her role as housekeeper Saartje in the children's television series ''Swiebertje''. Schagen was also an artist, who specialized in painting and had her own gallery, named GaleRiek. She appeared in the 1958 film ''Fanfare''. Amersfoort
Amersfoort () is a city and municipality in the province of Utrecht, Netherlands, about 20 km from the city of Utrecht and 40 km south east of Amsterdam. As of 1 December 2021, the municipality had a population of 158,531, making it the second-largest of the province and fifteenth-largest of the country. Amersfoort is also one of the largest Dutch railway junctions with its three stations— Amersfoort Centraal, Schothorst and Vathorst—due to its location on two of the Netherlands' main east to west and north to south railway lines. ''Hunted in Holland'' is a British children's film/crime film from 1961 directed by Derek Williams and starring Sean Scully, Jacques Verbrugge and Sandra Spurr. The script was written Ian Dalrymple and Williams. ''Hunted in Holland'' was shot in Eastmancolor. Plot Tim visits his penfriend Piet van Helder in Holland. Piet has a kid sister named Aanike. Tim throws away a raw herring, which lands in the megaphone of a man guiding British tourists in a channel boat. Confused he drops his walking stick into the water. When the children later fishes it up, they discover a valuable diamond bracelet hidden inside. The guide actually belongs to a gang of diamond thieves. ''Katie Tippel'' (Dutch title: ''Keetje Tippel'') is a 1975 film by Paul Verhoeven. The film is based on the memoirs of Neel Doff (1858–1942) and was the most expensive Dutch film produced up to that time. The film was a box office success, being the number one film in the Netherlands for the year with 1.8 million admissions, and one of the top 10 most popular Dutch films of all time at the time. Plot The film begins in 1881 at Stavoren, a small Dutch rural town in the province of Friesland, and follows Katie's family to Amsterdam, where they hope to escape grinding poverty by finding work. Upon their arrival Katie secures employment at a dye-works, but is fired when she refuses to have sex with the director. She finds a job at a hat shop, where, during a business trip to a brothel, she discovers her older sister Mina working there. ''The Silent Raid'' ( nl, De Overval) is a 1962 Dutch war film directed by Paul Rotha. It shows a true story from World War II: the raid on Leeuwarden prison of December 8, 1944. Without firing a shot, Dutch resistance members disguised as German SD and their prisoners enter the prison, free 39 prisoners and vanish into the city. The Germans were unable to find any of the organizers or escapees. It was entered into the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival. The film was one of the most successful in the Netherlands (1,474,000 tickets sold). The scenario was written by Loe de Jong. ''Ciske the Rat'' ( nl, Ciske de Rat) is a 1955 Dutch drama film directed by Wolfgang Staudte, based on the Ciske trilogy by Piet Bakker. The film was remade in 1984 and turned into a popular musical in 2007. With 2,433,000 viewers it was the most popular Dutch film of all-time until surpassed a few years later by ''Fanfare''. The film was shown at the Venice Film Festival, where it won a Silver Lion of San Marco. It has also received an honorable mention from the Office Catholique Internationale du Cinéma. A German version has been made with other actors, titled ''Ciske: Ein Kind braucht Liebe'' (Ciske: A Child Needs Love).
