Hans-Joachim Riecke
Hans-Joachim Riecke or Hans-Joachim Ernst Riecke (20 June 1899 – 11 August 1986) was a German Nazi politician and ''Gruppenführer'' in the SS. During World War II Riecke was the State Secretary (''Staatssekretär'') to Herbert Backe, the '' Reichsminister'' of Food and Agriculture. He was Backe's accomplice in planning and implementing the Hunger Plan which resulted in the death by starvation of millions of people in the Soviet Union. Biography Riecke was born in Dresden, Germany. He studied agriculture at the University of Leipzig and graduated in 1925 with a degree in farming. He joined the Nazi Party in June 1925. From 1925 Riecke worked in the Chamber of Agriculture of Westphalia in Münster, most recently as head of the Department of Agriculture. In 1929, he was the leader of the ''Sturmabteilung'' (SA) in Münster. Erhard Riecke
Rudolf Erhard Riecke (11 May 1869, in Aschersleben – 15 November 1939, in Leipzig) was a German dermatologist and venereologist. He studied medicine at the universities of Munich and Halle, receiving his doctorate in 1895. In 1902 he obtained his habilitation for dermatology at the University of Leipzig, and in 1908 became an associate professor. From 1914 onward, he was a professor of dermatology at the University of Göttingen, where in 1932 he was named academic rector. Eduard Riecke
Eduard Riecke (1 December 1845 – 11 June 1915) was a German experimental physicist. Riecke studied physics at the Polytechnic in Stuttgart, at the University of Tübingen and at the University of Göttingen under Wilhelm Weber and Friedrich Kohlrausch, where he received his doctorate in 1871 and qualified as a professor shortly thereafter. In 1873 he became associate professor and in 1881 full professor, which he remained until his death. He conducted experiments on electrical conduction in metals for which he further developed a model of management by electrons began by Paul Drude. With the model, among other things, the decrease in conductivity could be explained with increase in temperature. Later he worked among others with electricity conduction in gases. The Bavarian Academy of Sciences appointed him in 1909 as a corresponding member. His students include Johannes Stark.
