Greg Nesbitt
Greg Nesbitt is a Canadian provincial politician, who was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the riding of Riding Mountain in the 2016 election. He is a member of the Progressive Conservative party, and held the seat after incumbent MLA Leanne Rowat did not stand for re-election. He was re-elected in the 2019 and 2023 elections. On October 24, 2023, he was appointed as the Shadow Minister for Environment and Climate Change and the Shadow Minister for Efficiency Manitoba. Russell (Manitoba Electoral District)
Russell was a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was located in the southwestern section of the province. Historical riding The original Russell riding was created in 1886, shortly after the expansion of Manitoba's western boundaries. It existed until 1957, when it was combined with the riding of Birtle as Birtle-Russell. The riding was primarily agrarian, and elected candidates from various parties who supported agrarian interests. List of provincial representatives Modern riding The riding of Birtle-Russell lasted from 1957 to 1979, and the subsequent riding of Roblin-Russell from 1979 to 1999. Leanne Rowat is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. In 2003, she was elected to the Manitoba legislature as a Progressive Conservative. Prior to entering public life herself, Rowat was a constituency assistant to Progressive Conservative MLA Harold Gilleshammer, and worked as a community development officer in the Souris region. She also served on the board of directors of the ''South West Regional Health Authority'', and was a Public Relations Chair for the ''Manitoba Winter Games 2006 Bid Committee''. Minnedosa (electoral District)
Minnedosa was a provincial electoral division in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Manitoba from 1881 to 2011. It was created in 1881 with the expansion of the province's western boundary. From 1886 to 1888, it was divided into two ridings, Minnedosa East and Minnedosa West. Minnedosa was located in the southwestern region of Manitoba. It was bordered by Russell (Manitoba riding), Russell to the north, Ste. Rose (Manitoba riding), Ste. Birtle is an unincorporated urban community in the Prairie View Municipality within the Canadian province of Manitoba that held town status prior to 1 January 2015. It is located at the junction of Highways 83 and 42. History Originally incorporated in 1884, the community lies in the Birdtail River valley. It features a spacious community park developed in the early years of the community with additions through the years to bring it to the current time where the original golf course designed to take advantage of the valley contours now enjoys the modern amenities and the tennis courts still located in the original location now feature modern plexipave surfaces and are some of the best in western Manitoba. Virden, Manitoba
Virden is a town in southwestern Manitoba, Canada. Oil was first discovered in 1951, and Virden has since come to be known as the "Oil Capital of Manitoba". History Virden has its roots as a farming community known as Gopher Creek. However, it became a railway tent town in 1882, and grew in population due to the brick and flour industry, as well as with the discovery of oil in the 1950s. Rivers is an unincorporated urban community in the Riverdale Municipality within the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located northwest of Brandon, Manitoba, Brandon, above sea level. It is within the Westman Region, Manitoba, Westman Region (Southwestern Manitoba).
