Rider Broncs Baseball
The Rider Broncs baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, United States. The team is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, which is part of the NCAA Division I. The team plays its home games at Sonny Pittaro Field in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. The Broncs are led by head coach by Lee Lipinski. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, ) is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 13 full members are located in five Northeastern states: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York (state), New York. Members are all relatively small private institutions, a majority Catholic university, Catholic or formerly Catholic, with the only exceptions being two secular institutions: Rider University and Quinnipiac University. 2010 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament
The 2010 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, June 4, 2010, as part of the 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64-team double elimination tournament concluded with the 2010 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. This was the final year at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium, the host venue since 1950. The South Carolina Gamecocks won two elimination games against archrival Clemson in the College World Series semifinals, then defeated the UCLA Bruins in the second game of the finals on a walk-off single by Whit Merrifield to win the national championship. The 2008 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was held from May 30 through June 25, 2008 and was part of the 2008 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college baseball teams were selected out of an eligible 286 teams on May 26, 2008. Thirty teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and 34 teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee.
