Ricky Young (born 1960) is an American former professional super lightweight boxer from New York City, who had 21 fights with 6 KO's and 17 wins. Early life Born in July 1960 in Savannah, Georgia, U.S., Ricky Young spent most of his early life in a housing project in Harlem. After graduating high school, Young lived with his parents and two younger sisters while working as a carpenter's assistant. Young's father worked as a bookkeeper and his mother worked as a trimmer in a clothing factory. Career Young started his career after deciding to start going to the gym to get in shape. Young quickly started to discover his talent for boxing and began to nurture it. Ricky Young says he was influenced by the success of Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali, and used this inspiration to fuel his discipline to train on a daily basis. Rodney Moore (born February 21, 1965) is an American boxer in the welter-/cruiser-weight class. He was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, but later moved with his family to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Initially wanting to become a policeman, he changed his mind upon graduating from the I.S.T. Academy (Institute of Security and Technology) to become a boxer instead. Moore then worked as a security officer at Pennsylvania Community College and a disc jockey in various Philadelphia clubs while undergoing training as a boxer in his spare time. While he was gradually becoming a boxer he committed himself to charity and the community for which he already received several certificates and awards. Freddie Pendleton (born January 5, 1963) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 2001. Pendleton won his first title in October 1985 knocking out Darryl Martin (9-2) in the 6th round earning him the Pennsylvania State light welterweight title. In March 1986, "Fearless", who was (14-13) at the time, took on Roger Mayweather (23-3) at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. He knocked out Roger in the 6th round for a TKO win. Four months later, Pendleton took on Frankie Randall (27-1) for the second time. Only this time was for the vacant USBA lightweight title. The fight went the distance and was a draw.
