Richard Arthur Crawford (May 12, 1935 – July 23, 2024) was an American music historian and professor of music at the University of Michigan. His ''American Musical Landscape'' was one of the seminal works of American music history, published in 2001. He published several other books, and edited a series of books on American music. He was an honorary member and president of the American Musicological Society, one of the founding members of the Society for American Music The Society for American Music (SAM) was founded in 1975 and was first named the Sonneck Society in honor of Oscar George Theodore Sonneck, early Chief of the Music Division in the Library of Congress and pioneer scholar of American music. Richard Crawford (born August 1, 1990) is an American former professional football cornerback who played in National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins. He played college football at Southern Methodist University. Richard Crawford (born June 27, 1939) is an American professional golfer. Crawford was born in El Dorado, Arkansas and attended the University of Houston. There, he won the individual NCAA Golf Championship twice, in 1959 and 1960. He was inducted into the university's Hall of Honor in 2004. Crawford turned professional in 1962 and played on the PGA Tour from 1964 to 1976, finishing second three times: 1967 Atlanta Classic, 1969 Heritage Golf Classic, 1970 Greater Milwaukee Open. His best finish in a professional major championship was a tie for 20th in the 1967 PGA Championship. Crawford became a club professional in Georgia after his PGA Tour career ended. Richard Hoyt Crawford Jr. (born July 26, 1958) is an American former professional stock car racing driver and convicted child sex offender. Crawford competed in the Craftsman Truck Series full-time from 1997 to 2009. He is the former promoter and manager of Mobile International Speedway. Early career Crawford began his racing career as a short-track racer in the southeastern United States. He won the 1989 running of the prestigious annual short track Snowball Derby race. He also won the track championship at Five Flags Speedway in 1981 and 1984, and won the championship at Mobile International Speedway in 1981, 1982, and 1984.
