Rick Clifton
Rick Clifton (born August 18, 1954) is an American professional stock car racing driver who has previously competed in the ARCA Menards Series. Clifton mostly raced for Fast Track Racing, having made his debut with the team at Michigan International Speedway in 2010, where he raced sporadically from 2010 to 2020. He achieved his best finish of tenth at Toledo Speedway in 2020, and made his most recent start at Winchester Speedway of that year, where he started and finished eleventh. Circleville is a city in Pickaway County, Ohio, United States, and its county seat. The city is situated along the Scioto River 25 miles (40 km) south of Columbus, Ohio, Columbus. The population was 13,927 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Circleville is named after its original layout created in 1810, which was based upon the circular Hopewell tradition Earthworks (engineering), earthwork within which the city was built. This earthwork measured in diameter, and was constructed in the early centuries of the Common Era. The county courthouse was built in the center of the innermost circle. Stock car racing events in the ARCA Menards Series have been held at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana since 1955. The track currently hosts one race for the series, currently known as the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200. History ARCA (then known as MARC) first raced at Salem Speedway in 1955, with Jack Harrison (racing driver), Jack Harrison winning the inaugural race. Unfortunately, during this race, Ray Duhigg was killed when his car flew out of the track in turn 1. From 1955 to 1979, the track became a staple on the ARCA schedule, though it was left off of the series schedule in 1958, 1960, 1961, and 1978. From 1968 to 1974, ARCA held a 500-lap event at the track, named the Salem 500. The event was briefly revived in 1988 and 1989. After 1979, the series did not race at the track from 1980 to 1986. The Dawn 150 was an ARCA Menards Series race held at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. It was originally 201 miles until 2008, but was shortened to 150 miles the next year. The Springfield ARCA 100 (formerly the Allen Crowe 100, Atlas 100 and the Dutch Boy 100) is an ARCA Menards Series stock car race held annually on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack during the Illinois State Fair. It is one of two dirt races on the ARCA schedule, the other being the Southern Illinois 100 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds Racetrack, both of which are longtime events on the series schedule.
