Richie Purdy
Richie Purdy (born 12 March 1972, in Dublin) is an Irish former footballer. Purdy made his League of Ireland début for Home Farm against EMFA on 6 November 1988. He spent six seasons with Dundalk, winning the League with the team in 1994/95 (scoring 2 goals in 26 appearances). During this tenure at Dundalk he won the PFAI "Young Player of the Year" award in 1992/93 PFAI. Purdy later moved to Derry City for one season where he won another league title for the 1996/97 season. He joined Shamrock Rovers in the summer of 1997 where he stayed for four seasons, making two appearances in Europe (scoring once). Purdy was capped by Ireland at U15, U16, U17, U18 and U21 levels. He played in two qualifiers in the 1990 UEFA European Under-18 Football Championship qualifying campaign. His eldest son, Daniel, is who plays for Longford Town and has played for Ireland U15s and U17s. His other son Richie plays for Shamrock Rovers U19 in the League of Ireland U19 Division. Dublin

The League of Ireland U19 Division is the under-19 division of the League of Ireland. The current division is the successor of earlier U21 and U20 divisions. Like the Premier Division and First Division, the U19 Division is currently sponsored by Airtricity and as a result it is also known as the SSE Airtricity U19 League. The earlier U21 and U20 divisions were sponsored by Eircom and as a result were referred to as the Eircom U21 League or the Eircom U20 League. PFAI Young Player Of The Year
The Professional Footballers' Association of Ireland Players' Young Player of the Year (often called the PFAI Players' Young Player of the Year, the PFAI Young Player of the Year, or simply the Young Player of the Year) award is given to the footballer in the top-flight of Irish football, the League of Ireland, who is seen to have been the best player of the previous season and is under 23 years of age. FAI Super Cup
The FAI Super Cup was an association football super cup featuring clubs from the Republic of Ireland. It was played for between 1998 and 2001. It was a pre-season tournament played in the summer before the regular League of Ireland season began. The same four clubs that qualified to represent the Republic of Ireland in UEFA competitions also qualified for the Super Cup. League of Ireland clubs had previously played in a similar competition known as the Top Four Cup. A similar competition, the LFA President's Cup, co-existed with the FAI Super Cup. Since 2014 the FAI has organised a new super cup, the President's Cup.
