Richard Fox Brenham
Richard Fox Brenham (c. 1810 – February 11, 1843) was an American physician, and member of the Texan Santa Fe Expedition and the Mier expedition. Early life Brenham was born in 1810 in Woodford County, Kentucky to Robert and Mary M. (Fox) Brenham. He was educated at Transylvania College before relocating to Texas. Life in Texas From June 15 to September 15, 1836, he served in the Texas Army, receiving a 320-acre tract in Cooke County. He worked in medicine in Austin and was selected to serve as a civil commissioner of the Texan Santa Fe Expedition by Mirabeau B. Lamar. Brenham ( ) is a city in east-central Texas, United States, and the county seat of Washington County, with a population of 17,369 according to the 2020 U.S. census. Brenham is also known for its annual German heritage festival that takes place each May called Maifest, similar to Volksfest. Numerous German immigrants settled here in the mid-19th century, following the revolutions in German states in 1848. Salado ( ) is a village in Bell County, Texas, United States. Salado was first incorporated in 1867 for the sole purpose of building a bridge across Salado Creek. In 2000, the citizens of Salado voted in favor of reincorporation, before which it was a census-designated place. The population was 2,394 at the 2020 census.
