Rich Jacobs
Rich Jacobs (born 1972 in Long Beach, California) is an American artist and curator who currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Jacobs has exhibited in the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. In 2008, his work ''Minor Threat Family Tree'' was featured prominently along with other works of his at the London Ontario Live Arts Festival in Canada. Minor Threat
Minor Threat was an American hardcore punk band, formed in 1980 in Washington, D.C., by vocalist Ian MacKaye and drummer Jeff Nelson. MacKaye and Nelson had played in several other bands together, and recruited bassist Brian Baker and guitarist Lyle Preslar to form Minor Threat. They added a fifth member, Steve Hansgen, in 1982, playing bass, while Baker switched to second guitar. The band was relatively short-lived, disbanding after only three years together, but had a strong influence in the emerging American hardcore punk scene, both stylistically and in helping to further establish the "do it yourself" ethic for music distribution and concert promotion. Minor Threat's song " Straight Edge" was the basis of the straight edge movement, which emphasized a lifestyle without alcohol or other drugs, or promiscuous sex. London Ontario Live Arts Festival
The London Ontario Live Arts Festival also known as LOLA Fest, was an arts festival which took place in downtown London, Ontario, Canada, in the third week of September, from 2006 to 2010. It began as a one-day street festival in 2006 and expanded to the three-day format in 2007. The festival was founded by Andrew Francis; LOLA 2007 and LOLA 2008 were curated by Ian Doig-Phaneuf (music) and Paul Walde (visual art).
