Ricardo Silverio
Ricardo Cruz Silverio (November 29, 1929 – December 11, 2016) was a Filipino businessman and politician. He represented the 3rd district of Bulacan in the Philippine House of Representatives from 1992 until 2001, and mayor of San Rafael from 2001 to 2010. He was known among his political constituents as "Tata Carding". Business career Silverio started as a salesman of a textile firm in Divisoria, which he later owned. Silverio founded Delta Motor Corporation in 1962, which assembled and distributed Toyota automobiles in the Philippines.Doner, p. 43 While his company flourished, he became identified as one of Ferdinand Marcos' cronies. San Rafael, Bulacan
San Rafael, officially the Municipality of San Rafael (, Kapampangan: ''Balen ning San Rafael''), is a municipality in the province of Bulacan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 103,097 people. Etymology According to legend, the origin of town's present name San Rafael traces to a local fisherman. A few days after he had dreamed that he could heal, he successfully treated an ill neighbor using a fish's liver. Because of this, the news spread that he was indeed able to heal. Francis C. Arnaiz (born June 4, 1951) is a Filipino former basketball player. He is best known for his career in the PBA, playing for Toyota and Ginebra San Miguel from 1975 to 1986. Early basketball years Arnaiz had a love for sports and would shoot stuffed toys into a basket during his early childhood. While studying at La Salle-Bacolod in elementary school, he competed in both football and basketball. Football provided him with speed and exceptional footwork, skills that would later contribute to his development as an outstanding basketball player.
