Ric Blaxill
Richard Eric Blaxill (born 19 July 1962) is a British radio and TV music producer and music programming director. Early life Blaxill was born into a family of travelling fairground people. His father Joby Blaxill was the owner. Career Radio 1 From 1988 to 1994, he was producer/senior producer at BBC Radio 1. Top of the Pops From 1994 to 1997, he was producer and executive producer for BBC 1's ''Top of the Pops'', and later A&R director for Independiente Records. He was largely responsible for livening the format of the programme into its final incarnation. His boss was David Liddiment. ITV From 1998 to 2000, he was the development and series producer for ''SMTV Live'' and '' CD:UK'' and development and series producer for ''Friday Night's All Wright'' with Ian Wright, then from 2000 until 2001, he was creative director on Stormlive Digital and Internet Radio. BBC Radio 6 Music is a British digital radio station owned and operated by the BBC. It primarily plays a wide range of alternative music, from established and emerging artists and bands. In 2002 it was the first national music radio station to be launched by the BBC in 32 years. The Radio Academy Awards, started in 1983, were the most prestigious awards in the British radio industry. For most of their existence, they were run by ZAFER Associates, but in latter years were brought under the control of The Radio Academy. The awards were generally referred to by the name of their first sponsor, Sony, as The Sony Awards, The Sony Radio Awards or variations. In August 2013, Sony announced the end of its sponsorship agreement with The Radio Academy after 32 years. Consequently, the awards were named simply ''The Radio Academy Awards''. Capital London is an Independent Local Radio station owned and operated by Global Media & Entertainment as part of its national Capital (radio network), Capital Network. As Capital Radio it was launched in the London area in 1973 as one of Britain's first two commercial radio stations. The Pop Years
''The Pop Years'' is a British television show that reviewed pop music of a certain year from 1980 to 1999. It was first shown on Sky1 in 2003 and was later repeated on Sky3. The programme featured archive clips relating to the particular year that it was reviewing, e.g. music videos or live performances. It also featured interviews with famous singers from that year and talking heads who enjoyed that year's music. Ian Edward Wright (born 3 November 1963) is an English media personality and former professional footballer. Wright enjoyed success with London clubs Crystal Palace and Arsenal as a forward, spending six years with the former and seven years with the latter.
