Rhythm Plate
Rhythm Plate are predominantly a deep house production duo who formed in 1995. They consist of Matt 'Rhythm' and Ant 'Plate', who have infrequently DJed across the UK (Egg, Fabric), even less so, Europe ( SONAR 2009 & 2010, Cork, Montpellier) and once around the world (San Francisco, Auckland, Brisbane, Thailand). In 2012, they played their first live gig at Fabric using extensive outboard gear; including a Roland Juno 60, a Minimoog Model D, a Korg DW-8000, various effects and mixers and two Yamaha samplers. In 2013, Rhythm Plate started a new 'vinyl only' record label called Pressed For Time Records which, despite its lack of paid publicity/PR machine interest, each of the releases have been well received by the deep/tech house community of DJs It still releases music today. Matlock, Derbyshire
Matlock is the county town of Derbyshire, England. It is in the south-eastern part of the Peak District, with the National Park directly to the west. The spa resort of Matlock Bath is immediately south of the town as well as Cromford lying further south still. The civil parish of Matlock Town had a population in the 2021 UK census of 10,000. Roland Juno 60
The Roland Juno-60 is an analog synthesizer manufactured by the Roland Corporation between 1982 and 1984. It followed the Juno-6, an almost identical synthesizer released months earlier. The Juno synthesizers introduced Roland's digitally controlled oscillators, allowing for greatly improved tuning stability over its competitors. The Juno-6 and Juno-60 were introduced as low-cost alternatives to polyphonic synths such as the Prophet-5, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 and Roland's own Roland Jupiter-8, Jupiter-8. Its built-in chorus effect was designed to make up for the weaker sound of its single oscillator, and it went on to become its signature effect. Hedkandi is an English record label, events and music brand owned by Ministry of Sound. Its back catalogue includes both artist albums and dance music compilations. History The Hedkandi label was founded in 1999 at radio station Jazz FM's Enterprise Division by Mark Doyle, who proposed the initial idea and created the name, concept and track listings, as a stable mate to Jazz FM Records. Its live events quickly gained popularity with a residency in Ibiza at el Divino and by having its own specialist radio show on Jazz FM. Global Underground is a British record label and compilation series founded in 1996 by Andy Horsfield and James Todd. Renaissance (club)
Renaissance is a British electronic dance music club brand and record label. Renaissance was started by Geoff Oakes at Venue 44 in Mansfield, England in March 1992. Renaissance was Geoff Oakes' antidote to the sci-fi imagery and dressed down clubbers of the 'rave' scene. Early resident DJs at Renaissance were Ian Ossia, Sasha, John Digweed and Nigel Dawson; other DJs with long-time attachments include Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, David Morales, Anthony Pappa and Hernán Cattáneo. In 1993, Renaissance moved to a newly renovated former print works in Derby called The Conservatory. Amp Fiddler
Joseph Anthony "Amp" Fiddler (May 17, 1958 – December 18, 2023) was an American singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and record producer from Detroit, Michigan. His musical styles included funk, soul, dance and electronica. He was probably best known for his contributions to the band Enchantment, and as part of George Clinton's Parliament and Funkadelic groups from 1985 to 1996. Early life Fiddler was born in Detroit on May 17, 1958. He began studying music at the age of 16. The Frames
The Frames are an Irish rock band based in Dublin. Founded in 1990 by Glen Hansard, the band has been influential in the Dublin rock music scene. The group has released six studio albums.
