Rhynchocyclus Olivaceus
''Rhynchocyclus'' is a genus of passerine birds in the tyrant flycatcher family Tyrannidae. Taxonomy The genus ''Rhynchocyclus'' was introduced in 1860 by the German ornithologists Jean Cabanis and Ferdinand Heine as a replacement name for ''Cyclorhynchus'' that had been introduced in 1836 by Carl Jakob Sundevall. The name ''Cyclorhynchus'' was preoccupied by ''Cyclorrhynchus'' that had been introduced in 1829 by Johann Jakob Kaup. The type species is ''Cyclorhynchus olivaceus'' Anselme Gaëtan Desmarest, Desmarest which is a junior synonym of ''Platyrhynchos olivaceus'' Coenraad Jacob Temminck, Temminck, the eastern olivaceous flatbill. The genus name ''Rhynchocyclus'' is an anagram of the original name ''Cyclorhynchus''. The latter combines the Ancient Greek κυκλος/''kuklos'' meaning "circle" or "shield" with ῥυγχος /''rhunkhos'' meaning "bill". The genus contains five species: References

Western Olivaceous Flatbill
The western olivaceous flatbill (''Rhynchocyclus aequinoctialis'') is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. Taxonomy and systematics The western olivaceous flatbill was Species description, originally described in 1858 as ''Cyclorhynchus aequinoctialis''. The author noted its resemblance to ''C. olivaceous'', which later became the "olivaceous flatbill" (''Rhynchocyclus olivaceous''). What is now the western olivaceous flatbill was long treated as a subspecies of that olivaceous flatbill. Following a paper published in 2016 several taxonomic systems split the olivaceous flatbill into western and eastern species though some took until 2023 to do so. By the principle of priority the eastern retained the Binomial nomenclature, binomial ''Rhynchocyclus olivaceous''.Boesman, P. (2016). Eastern Olivaceous Flatbill
The eastern olivaceous flatbill (''Rhynchocyclus olivaceus'') is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. It is found in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. Taxonomy and systematics The eastern olivaceous flatbill was formally described and illustrated in 1820 by the Dutch zoologist Coenraad Jacob Temminck under the binomial name ''Platyrhynchos olivaceus''. Temminck specified the type locality as Brazil but this was restricted to Rio de Janeiro by Olivério Pinto in 1944. The eastern olivaceous flatbill is now one of five flatbills placed in the genus ''Rhynchocyclus'' that was introduced in 1836 by Jean Cabanis. Three subspecies are recognised: * ''R. o. guianensis'' McConnell, 1911 – south Venezuela, the Guianas and north Amazonian Brazil * ''R. o. sordidus'' Todd, 1952 – southeast Amazonian Brazil * ''R. o. olivaceus'' (Temminck, 1820) – central north, east Brazil The many subspecies of what is now the western olivaceou ...

Pacific Flatbill
The Pacific flatbill (''Rhynchocyclus pacificus'') is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae, the tyrant flycatchers. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Taxonomy and systematics The Pacific flatbill was originally described in 1914 as ''Craspedoprion pacificus''. It had been known to ornithologists but was believed to be conspecific with what is now the western olivaceous flatbill (''Rhynchocyclus aequinoctialis''). It was later treated by many authors as a subspecies of the eye-ringed flatbill (''R. brevirostris'') but by the mid-twentieth century was widely accepted as a full species. By the late twentieth century some taxonomists treated the Pacific and eye-ringed flatbills as a superspecies but later study showed that the Pacific flatbill is basal to all other members of ''Rhynchocyclus''.Remsen, J. 166 6794eyeringedflatbill
Year 166 ( CLXVI) was a common year starting on Tuesday of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Pudens and Pollio (or, less frequently, year 919 ''Ab urbe condita''). The denomination 166 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years. Events By place Roman Empire * Dacia is invaded by barbarians. * Conflict erupts on the Danube frontier between Rome and the Germanic tribe of the Marcomanni. * Emperor Marcus Aurelius appoints his sons Commodus and Marcus Annius Verus as co-rulers (Caesar), while he and Lucius Verus travel to Germany. * End of the war with Parthia: The Parthians leave Armenia and eastern Mesopotamia, which both become Roman protectorates. * A plague (possibly small pox) comes from the East and spreads throughout the Roman Empire, lasting for roughly twenty years. * The Lombards invade Pannonia (modern Hungar ...
