Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn
The Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn () is a Metropolitan area, polycentric S-bahn network covering the Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan regions in Germany, Metropolitan Region in the Germany, German States of Germany, federated state of North Rhine-Westphalia. This includes most of the Ruhr (and cities such as Dortmund, Duisburg and Essen), the Bergisches Land, Berg cities of Wuppertal and Solingen and parts of the Rhineland (with cities such as Cologne and Düsseldorf). The easternmost city within the S-Bahn Rhine-Ruhr network is Unna, the westernmost city served is Mönchengladbach. The S-Bahn operates in the areas of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr and Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg tariff associations, touching areas of the Aachener Verkehrsverbund (AVV) at Düren and Westfalentarif at Unna. DBAG Class 422
The Class 422 is a series of four-car electric multiple unit, electric multiple units that are a derivative of the DBAG Class 423. The two inner cars in the set are designated as Class 432 vehicles. History The units were commissioned by Deutsche Bahn in 2005. 78 units worth euro, €343 million were built by Bombardier Transportation and Alstom and delivered between March 2008 and October 2010. They are now used in such places as like on the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn which operate in cities like Köln and Düsseldorf as well as the Ruhr area. Deutsche Bahn uses the units on the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn network, unlike most S-Bahn Networks which use similar DBAG Class 423 trains. The inner carriages are called Class 432. Ratingen Ost Station
Ratingen Ost is a station situated in Ratingen in the German state of North Rhine Westphalia and is a station of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. It was opened in 1872 as the Ratingen station of the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company (, BME) along with the Ruhr Valley Railway. After the nationalisation of the BME, it received its current name in the 19th century. The station is located between the Ratingen districts of ''Ost'' (east) and ''Mitte'' (central) and is mainly used by commuters into Düsseldorf. From the former freight yard, the now dismantled railway sidings ran to the nearby firms of the ''Balcke-Dürr'' company and the ''Wilhelm Pulch'' foundry and steelworks. Düren (; Ripuarian language, Ripuarian: Düre) is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, between Aachen and Cologne, on the river Rur (river), Rur.
