Reynaert
Reynaert (born Joseph Reynaerts; 24 July 1955 – 5 November 2020) was a Belgian singer-songwriter, best known for his participation in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Reynaert was born in Seraing, and started busking at the age of 18. In 1978 he won the annual music competition in the town of Spa with the song "Cerf-volant" ("Kite"), which was released as a single. Another single, "Pas assez" ("Not Enough"), followed in 1982 and he released his first album in 1984. Eurovision Song Contest In 1988, Reynaert's song "Laissez briller le soleil" ("Let the Sun Shine") was chosen as the Belgian representative in the 33rd Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 30 April in Dublin. It was a reflective song that finished the evening in joint 18th place of 21 entries, having received points solely from the French jury. Belgium was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 with the song "", written by Joseph Reynaerts, Dany Willem, and Philippe Anciaux, and performed by Reynaert himself. The Belgian participating broadcaster, Walloon (RTBF), selected its entry through a national final. Before Eurovision ''1988'' Wallon broadcaster (RTBF) had the turn to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 representing Belgium. It held the national final on 28 February 1988 at 20:05 CET in its studios in Brussels, hosted by Patrick Duhamel. The winner was chosen by an expert jury and a public jury, consisting of 500 selected television viewers. The full results of the voting were not made public, and only the winning song was announced. The Eurovision Song Contest 1988 was the 33rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held on 30 April 1988 in the RDS Simmonscourt Pavilion in Dublin, Ireland and presented by Pat Kenny and Michelle Rocca. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (RTÉ), the contest was held in Ireland following the country's victory at the with the song " Hold Me Now" by Johnny Logan. Ingeborg (born Ingeborg Thérèse Marguerite Sergeant, 15 October 1966, Menen) is a Belgian singer and television presenter, best known outside Belgium for her participation in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Ingeborg studied at the Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp, a training school for young singers and stage performers. One of her fellow students was the Dutch singer Stef Bos, with whom she formed a professional and personal relationship. With other colleagues, they formed a group called Zwiep en Brons and won the jury prize in the 1988 ''Leids Cabaret Festival'' in the Dutch city of Leiden. Liliane Saint-Pierre (born Liliane Louise Keuninckx, 18 December 1948) is a Belgian pop singer. Hailing from Flanders, she sings mostly in Dutch. She competed at Eurovision Song Contest 1987 with the song " Soldiers of Love". Biography Liliane Saint-Pierre was born in Molenstede, Flemish Brabant, as Liliane Keuninckx. She started her career in the 1960s when she was 13 years old. The biggest hit of her early success period was "We gotta stop" sung in Dutch. At that time she performed as Liliane. Her success didn't stay unnoticed. She became acquainted with Claude François, a French singer and producer, and asked him to promote her in France.
