Rey De Reyes (2008)
The Rey de Reyes 2008 (Spanish for "King of Kings") was the 12th annual Rey de Reyes professional wrestling tournament and show, produced by the Mexican wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The event took place on March 18, 2007 in the Plaza de Toros Lorenzo Garza arena in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The main focus of the 2008 Rey de Reyes show was the twelfth annual Rey de Reyes tournament and a match between the top ''technico'' Cibernético and the top ''rudo'' El Mesias for the AAA Mega Championship which El Mesias held going into the event. The undercard included four qualifying matches for the Rey de Reyes leading to the traditional four man elimination match that led to the crowning of that year's Rey de Reyes. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy", "good-doer", or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans. They are portrayed as heroes relative to the heel wrestlers, who are analogous to villains. Traditionally, face characters wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience. AAA Reina De Reinas Championship
The AAA Reina de Reinas Championship (literally "AAA Queen of Queens Championship", "AAA Women's Championship") is a singles women's professional wrestling championship promoted by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). It is the only women's championship in AAA. From its creation in 1999 to 2009, the title was put on the line every year during the eponymous "Reina de Reinas" tournament, in addition to traditional defenses. The tournament eventually returned in 2012, with Sexy Star becoming the first wrestler to successfully retain the title at the event. The inaugural champion was Xóchitl Hamada, who was crowned after winning the original Reina de Reinas tournament in 1999. ''Lucha libre'' (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term for the style of professional wrestling originating in Mexico. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful wrestling mask, masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and professional wrestling aerial techniques, "high-flying" aerial techniques, some of which have been adopted by wrestlers in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. The Black Family
The Black Family is a professional wrestling face / tecnico stable that has been working in AAA since 2000. Originally a heel / rudo stable, The Black Family currently consists of original member Dark Cuervo as well as the later additions of Dark Ozz, and Dark Espíritu. The group is also referred to as the Dark Family, mainly became all members added the word "Dark " to their names in 2007, the two names are used interchangeably.
