Rexam plc was a British-based multinational consumer packaging company headquartered in London, England. After spending much of its life as a paper producer known as Bowater, it diversified and became a leading manufacturer of beverage cans. It had 55 plants in over 20 countries across Asia, Europe, North America and South America. In June 2016, Rexam was acquired by Ball Corporation for $8.4 billion. Graham Andrew Chipchase (born 17 January 1963) is a British businessman. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Brambles, an Australian logistics company. In the 2024 Birthday Honours, Graham Chipchase was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to sustainable business. Ball Corporation is an American aluminum manufacturing company headquartered in Westminster, Colorado. It is best known for its early production of glass jars, lids, and related products used for home canning. William Vansittart Bowater (15 March 1838 – 28 April 1907) was the founder of Bowater, which became one of the world's largest producers of newspaper print. Stuart John Chambers (born May 1956) is a British businessman. He has served as the chairman of Anglo American plc since 1 November 2017. Until 31 March 2021, Mr. Chambers served as chairman of Travis Perkins, having joined the board as a non-executive director in 2017. He previously served as chairman of ARM Holdings and Rexam until 2016; and in his non-executive career on the boards of Tesco, Manchester Airport Group, Smiths Group and Associated British Ports Holdings. Edward Lloyd (16 February 1815 – 8 April 1890) was a British London-based publisher. His early output of serialised fiction brought Sweeney Todd, Varney the Vampire, and many romantic heroes to a new public – those without reading material that they could both afford to buy and enjoy reading. His hugely popular penny dreadful serials earned him the means to move into newspapers. Moving away from fiction in the 1850s, his Sunday title, '' Lloyd’s Weekly'', was the first newspaper to reach a million circulation. Sir Thomas Vansittart Bowater, 1st Baronet (29 October 1862 – 28 March 1938) was a British Conservative Party politician who served as Lord Mayor of London from 1913 to 1914 and as one of the city's Members of Parliament (MPs) from 1924 to 1938. Career Bowater was the son of William Vansittart Bowater and his wife, Eliza Jane ''née'' Davey. On 8 June 1887, he married Emily Margaret Spencer and they later had six children. From 1905 to 1906, he was a Sheriff of the City of London. In 1906, he was knighted by King Edward VII.
