Rex Reason
Rex George Reason Jr. (November 30, 1928 – November 19, 2015) was an American actor best known for his role in '' This Island Earth'' (1955). He was the elder brother of actor Rhodes Reason. Life and career Reason was born in Berlin, Germany to an American family that returned to Los Angeles shortly thereafter, where Rex was raised. Rex Reason attended Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, California and enlisted in the United States Army at the age of seventeen, serving from 1946 to 1948. He began his stage career in 1948 at the Pasadena Playhouse, performing there for three years before coming to the notice of Hollywood. In 1951 he was given a screen test at Columbia Pictures and was cast as the lead in a starring role in his first picture, a low-budget adventure drama '' Storm Over Tibet'' (1952) initially produced for MGM but acquired by Columbia Pictures. ''The Roaring 20s'' is an American drama television series starring Rex Reason, Donald May and Dorothy Provine that was broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) from October 15, 1960, until January 20, 1962. Synopsis Each episode of the series is an hour long. It concerns newspaper reporters reporting crime and gangsters for the fictitious newspaper ''The New York Record'' during the 1920s, such as Scott Norris (Rex Reason), Pat Garrison (Donald May), Duke Williams (John Dehner), and copy-boy Chris Higby (Gary Vinson). Sidney Poitier
Sidney Poitier ( ; February 20, 1927 – January 6, 2022) was a Bahamian-American actor, film director, activist, and diplomat. In 1964, he was the first black actor and first Bahamian to win the Academy Award for Best Actor. Among his other accolades are two competitive Golden Globe Awards, a British Academy Film Awards, BAFTA Award and a Grammy Awards, Grammy Award, in addition to nominations for two Emmy Awards and a Tony Awards, Tony Award.
