Rex Grossman Sr.
Rex Daniel Grossman Sr. (February 5, 1924 – June 13, 1980) was an American football fullback and linebacker who played for two seasons in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and one season in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Rex Grossman was born February 5, 1924 in Huntington, Indiana. After playing college football for Indiana, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the twenty-ninth round of the 1948 NFL draft. He played for the Baltimore Colts of the AAFC from 1948 to 1949, until they merged with the NFL in 1950, and for the Detroit Lions of the NFL in 1950. Fullback (gridiron Football)
A fullback (FB) is a position in the offensive backfield in gridiron football and is one of the two running back positions along with the halfback. Fullbacks are typically larger than halfbacks, and, in most offensive schemes, the fullback's duties are split among power running, pass catching, and blocking for both the quarterback and the other running back. Many great runners in the history of American football have been fullbacks, including Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Bronko Nagurski, Jim Taylor, Franco Harris, Larry Csonka, Tom Rathman, John Riggins, Christian Okoye, and Levi Jackson. Rex Grossman
Rex Daniel Grossman III (born August 23, 1980) is an American former professional football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons, most notably with the Chicago Bears. Grossman played college football for the Florida Gators, where he was named AP College Football Player of the Year and won the 2002 Orange Bowl as a sophomore. He was selected by the Bears in the first round of the 2003 NFL draft. Grossman's most successful season was in 2006 when he helped lead the Bears to a conference title and an appearance in Super Bowl XLI. Due to inconsistent play, Grossman lost his starting position the following season.
