In political science, a revolution (, 'a turn around') is a rapid, fundamental transformation of a society's class, state, ethnic or religious structures. According to sociologist Jack Goldstone, all revolutions contain "a common set of elements at their core: (a) efforts to change the political regime that draw on a competing vision (or visions) of a just order, (b) a notable degree of informal or formal mass mobilization, and (c) efforts to force change through noninstitutionalized actions such as Political demonstration, mass demonstrations, Protest, protests, strikes, or violence." ''¿¡Revolución!?'' is a 2006 political documentary directed by Quebec journalist and filmmaker . It examines the Bolivarian Revolution led by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. It was produced by Télé-Québec, the Quebec government's public television network. As part of the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal film festival, first screenings occurred on November 10 and 14, 2006 at the Cinéma ONF in Montreal. The general opening happened on December 8, 2006, at Cinéma Ex-Centris, also in Montreal. This version showed the original Spanish spoken by the subjects, as well as narration and subtitles in French. Production In April 2005, director Charles Gervais heard of the news that Hugo Chávez decided to distribute one million free copies of major 17th century Spanish novel '' Don Quixote de la Mancha'' to Venezuelan citizens. ''Granma'' is the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba. It was formed in 1965 by the merger of two previous papers, (from Spanish: "Revolution") and ("Today"). Publication of the newspaper began in February 1966. Its name comes from the yacht '' Granma'' that carried Fidel Castro and 81 other rebels to Cuba's shores in 1956, launching the Cuban Revolution. The newspaper has been a way for the Cuban Communist Party to communicate their ideology to the world, especially regarding the United States. Marta Rojas worked for the paper since its founding. Revolución is a station on Line 2 of the Mexico City Metro system. It is located in the Colonia Tabacalera and Colonia Buenavista districts in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City, northwest of the city centre, on Avenida México - Tenochtitlan. Estadio Revolución
Estadio de la Revolución is a sports arena located near the downtown area of Torreón in Coahuila, Mexico. It has a seating capacity of 7,689. Though used mainly for baseball games, it sometimes hosts concerts and other non-sport events. It is the home field of the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna baseball team, and as such, it is the oldest professional baseball field in Mexico still in function. Avenida Revolución (Spanish for "Revolution Avenue") is the tourist center in Tijuana, Baja California, México. It is a main thoroughfare of the historic downtown Tijuana, officially called ''Zona Centro'', which forms part of the ''Delegación Centro'' or Central Borough of Tijuana. History Avenida Revolución was the first road in Tijuana to be paved, near the beginning of the twentieth century. Originally called Avenida Olvera, it was from its earliest days a popular destination for American tourists who crossed the border from California. La Revolución (painting)
is a 2014 painting by Fabián Cháirez. Measuring , the work was first exhibited at the GalerÃa José MarÃa Velasco in Mexico City between 2015 and 2016. It depicts Mexican revolutionary Emiliano Zapata nude in a provocative pose, wearing a pink sombrero and high heels made of pistols, seated on an erect horse. The author views the piece as a reinterpretation of Zapata's image that positions him within the struggle for sexual minorities. In 2020, the artwork was displayed at the art exhibition , at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, where it was selected as the image for its promotional poster. During the exhibition, the artwork was embroiled in media controversy due to debates over the non-hegemonic representation of Zapata. His descendants took legal action against Cháirez and the museum.
