Reverieme
Louise Connell (previously Reverieme) is a Scottish indie pop act from Airdrie, founded in 2005 by vocalist and guitarist Louise Connell. In 2011, Reverieme performed at T in the Park, Wickerman and Edinburgh's The Edge Festival, receiving airplay on both BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music. During 2012/13, Reverieme has supported Gotye, Emmy the Great, Damon & Naomi, Jakob Dylan, Newton Faulkner, Roses, Kings, Castles, Adam Stafford and Butcher Boy amongst others. Back in the studio, Reverieme recorded a 7 track acoustic EP 'Or Else The Light', released in summer of 2015. Winning fans at BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 (including Lauren Laverne's headphone moment) and Radio X, Reverieme went back to the studio to record the album Straw Woman, working with producer Stuart Macleod, which was released in June 2016. Newton Faulkner
Sam Newton Battenberg Faulkner (born 11 January 1985) is an English singer-songwriter and musician from Reigate, Surrey. He is known for his percussive style of guitar playing. In 2007 Faulkner's debut studio album '' Hand Built by Robots'' was certified double platinum in the United Kingdom. The album topped the UK Albums Chart in August 2007. It was promoted by three singles, " Dream Catch Me", " I Need Something" and " Teardrop". "Dream Catch Me" reached number seven on the UK Singles Charts. Faulkner's second studio album, '' Rebuilt by Humans'', was released in 2009 and charted at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart. After an accident to his right wrist, he said that he had "been put back together again by humans". Wickerman Festival
The Wickerman Festival was an annual music festival held near Auchencairn in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Dubbed "Scotland's Alternative Music festival", its motto was "The Wickerman Festival – it's better than it needs to be!" It began in 2001 when Sid Ambrose, later the festival's artistic director, hit upon the idea of a local counterculture-based, family-friendly event whilst working with the Stewartry Music Initiative. This was due in large part to the surrounding area featuring various locations used in the cult British horror film '' The Wicker Man'' (1973), starring Christopher Lee and Edward Woodward. Ambrose took the idea to local farmer Jamie Gilroy and they arranged for the festival to take place within a natural amphitheatre of of prime Galloway grazing land at East Kirkcarswell Farm, Dundrennan. Airdrie, North Lanarkshire
Airdrie (; sco, Airdrie; gd, An t-Àrd Ruigh) is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It lies on a plateau roughly 400 ft (130 m) above sea level, and is approximately 12 miles (19 km) east of Glasgow city centre. , the town had a population of around 37,130. Historically part of Lanarkshire, Airdrie forms part of a conurbation with its neighbour Coatbridge, in what is commonly known as the Monklands, formerly a district. Lo-fi (also typeset as lofi or low-fi; short for low fidelity) is a music or production quality in which elements usually regarded as imperfections in the context of a recording or performance are present, sometimes as a deliberate choice. King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, also known as King Tut's, is a live music venue and bar on St. Vincent Street, Glasgow, Scotland. It is owned and managed by Glasgow-based gig promoters DF Concerts. The Glasgow live music venue takes its name from a club in New York that hosted music, comedy and performing arts events in the 1980s. Ally McCrae
Ally McCrae (born 1987) is a radio DJ best known for presenting the BBC Introducing show on BBC Radio 1 with Jen Long. He previously presented the BBC Introducing in Scotland show until it ended in June 2012. He is co-creator of Detour Scotland.
