Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter
Kristin Hayter (born June 17, 1986) is an American singer and pianist. She started releasing music in 2017 and performed under the stage name Lingua Ignota (Latin for " unknown language"). In 2023, citing the unhealthiness of reliving her trauma through her performances, Hayter retired the Lingua Ignota project. She embodied a new persona under the moniker Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter. Her professional music career began in 2017 with the self-released albums ''Let the Evil of His Own Lips Cover Him'' and ''All Bitches Die'', which spread through word-of-mouth. Hayter's music caught the attention of Profound Lore Records, who re-issued ''All Bitches Die'' and released her third studio album, ''Caligula'', in 2019, which was met with universal critical acclaim. (Le) Poisson Rouge (often referred to as LPR) is a music venue and multimedia art cabaret in New York City founded in 2008 by Justin Kantor and David Handler on the former site of the Village Gate at 158 Bleecker Street. The performance space was designed and engineered by John Storyk/WSDG. It has become known for its focus on artistry, bringing contemporary classical music into the club setting, and offering a variety of set ups so that a seated classical performance can be followed by a standing set by a rock band or a DJ. It was released on October 20, 2023, through her own label, Perpetual Flame Ministries. It documents her attempt at salvation through religion, a topic featured heavily under her previous alias, Lingua Ignota. Hayter produced the album alongside Seth Manchester, and it received acclaim from critics.
