Revere High School (Massachusetts)
Revere High School is a public four-year high school in Revere, Massachusetts, United States, operated by the Revere Public Schools system, and serving about 1,500 students annually. High school students from the district attend either Revere High, Seacoast Alternative School, or the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School in Wakefield. History The current structure was opened in September, 1974. A $2.2 million referendum passed around 1998 funded the installation of a new fire alarm system. In 1998 the roof of the building began leaking, and the Revere town government estimated that the repair would cost $1 million. The leak had the potential of destroying the new fire alarm system. In 2011 the school expanded class times, with each class being 80 minutes instead of 54 minutes, and began a semester-based system. Everett, Massachusetts
Everett is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States, directly north of Boston, bordering the neighborhood of Charlestown. The population was 49,075 at the time of the 2020 United States Census. Key Club International, also called Key Club, is an international service organization for high school students. As a student-led organization, Key Club's goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. Key Club International is the high school branch of the Kiwanis International family, classifying as a Service Leadership Program and more specifically as a Kiwanis Youth Program. Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. At a MUN conference, students work as the representative of a country, organization, or person, and must solve a problem with other delegates from around the world. MUN teaches participants skills like research, public speaking, debating, and writing, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. National Catholic Forensics League
The National Catholic Forensic League (NCFL) is a speech and debate league that was formed in 1951. It is organized into regions that correspond to Roman Catholic dioceses. Member schools include both public and parochial high schools. The NCFL recruits member schools in both the United States and Canada. As of January, 2011, there were 65 active dioceses with NCFL leagues. The IRS recognizes the NCFL as an organization eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable donations. The NCFL sponsors the Grand National Speech and Debate Tournament held each year over Memorial Day weekend.
