Revelation (1924 Film)
''Revelation'' is a 1924 film starring Viola Dana, Monte Blue, and Lew Cody. The film was directed and written by George D. Baker and based upon a popular novel, ''The Rosebud of a Thousand Years''. Dana was one of the top stars of the newly amalgamated MGM, a lively comedian who enjoyed a long career that faded with the emergence of the talkies. In 1918, Metro Pictures (now called MGM) filmed ''Revelation'' again, starring Alla Nazimova and again directed by Baker. Plot Joline Hofer (Viola Dana) is a profligate Montmartre dancer who left her illegitimate child in a convent. Paul Granville (Monte Blue) is an American artist who becomes smitten by the dancer, and uses her for his portraits of great women. When one of Paul's paintings, of the Madonna, appears to result in a miracle, Joline's life is changed forever, as she reforms, reclaims her child, and marries the artist. Edward Connelly (December 30, 1859 – November 21, 1928) was an American stage and film actor of the silent era. Biography Connelly had a Broadway theater career going back to the Victorian era. His Broadway credits include ''The Wild Duck'' (1918), ''The Great Adventure'' (1913), ''A Good Little Devil'' (1913), ''The Dollar Princess'' (1909), ''Twiddle-Twaddle'' (1906), ''Bird Center'' (1904), ''Babette'' (1903), and ''The Belle of New York'' (1900). Bruce Guerin (January 18, 1919 – June 27, 2012) was an American child actor known for his roles in silent films during the 1920s. Biography Guerin was born in Los Angeles to a family that worked in showbusiness. His mother was a vaudeville performer while his father worked for Mack Sennett.
