Revel is a former French brand founded in France in 1851 that manufactured luxury parasols largely for the French expatriates in the former French colonial empire. History Beginning François Revel, the founder of Revel, arrived in Lyon, France, around 1830. In Lyon, François Revel joined his brother Pierre at Poncet Frères, a manufacturer of umbrellas, as an apprentice making high quality umbrellas from silk fabrics. Following the shutdown of Poncet Frères, François Revel founded his own company on 2 October 1851. François Revel’s first silk umbrella manufacturing workshop was located in Lyon, benefiting from the strong regional silk expertise. In 1860, François Revel was joined by his son, Aimé Revel (who was only 16 years old at the time) who often visited customers all over Europe. Red River Revel
The Red River Revel (colloquially referred as The Revel by locals) is an annual festival in Shreveport, Louisiana, that occurs every October. The Revel began in 1976 as a bicentennial celebration sponsored by the Junior League of Shreveport. It is a nonprofit festival; any money garnered from sales finances the Revel for next year. History No Revel was held in 2020, but it returned the next year. Activities Mosaics are produced at the festival. An artist creates a design of the Revel logo, and attendees put colored tiles to match the design. While some mosaics have been removed or blocked due to subsequent construction, others remain visible, including on the base of the Texas Street Bridge. The Revel hosts booths that feature paintings, jewelry and crafts, as well as a children's area that provides visual arts education. Revell GmbH is an American-origin manufacturer of plastic model, plastic scale models, currently based in Bünde, Germany. The original Revell company merged with Monogram (company), Monogram in 1986, becoming "Revell-Monogram". The Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies was Yeshiva University’s first graduate school. Founded in 1937, it was named for Yeshiva University's first president, Bernard Revel, upon his death in 1940. Its curriculum prepares highly trained teachers, researchers, and scholars in Jewish studies and emphasizes the critical analysis of primary sources, studies in methodology, and extensive readings in secondary literature. Gabriel Revel (10 May 1643 - 9 July 1712) was a French painter. Life He was born in Château-Thierry, in a family of artists. He went to Paris, probably on the advice of Jean de La Fontaine. Christophe Revel (born 25 March 1979) is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Bernard Revel
Bernard (Dov) Revel (; September 17, 1885 – December 2, 1940) was an Orthodox rabbi and scholar. He served as the first President of Yeshiva College from 1915 until his death in 1940. The Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies at Yeshiva University, as well as the former Yeshiva Dov Revel of Forest Hills, are named after him.
