''Retro'' is the soundtrack album composed by Santhosh Narayanan for the 2025 Indian Tamil-language film of the same name, Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde. The album, featuring eleven tracks with lyrics written by Vivek, Arunraja Kamaraj, Shan Vincent de Paul and 808Krshna. Kasarla Shyam and Raqueeb Alam wrote lyrics for the dubbed versions in Telugu and Hindi languages respectively. The album was split into A-side and B-side, A-side soundtrack consisting 6 tracks was released on 18 April 2025 and B-side soundtrack consisting 5 tracks was released on 23 May 2025 by T-Series. A promotional event was held on the same day in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai to launch the album. The music received positive reception from critics and audience. The tracks "Kanimaa" and "Kannadi Poove" topped the national charts, in all music and video platforms. Santhosh Narayanan
Santhosh Narayanan (born 15 May 1983) is an Indian film composer and musician who has predominately worked in Tamil cinema, while also having some Telugu and Malayalam films to his credit. He is known for his collaborations with Pa. Ranjith and Karthik Subbaraj. Early life Santhosh Narayanan was born in Tiruchirappalli, India. He is the younger of two children. He was educated at RSK Higher Secondary School, Tiruchirappalli. Santhosh Narayanan completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science at J. J. College of Engineering and Technology, Tiruchirappalli. After completing his education, he worked as a recording engineer, arranger and programmer, before beginning to produce independent music and compose for films. He composed the music including two original songs for the Telugu short film ''Advaitham'', He was also part of the contemporary folk music band "La Pongal" in which he performed in a few live shows in 2009. Shan Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a Sri Lankan-born Tamil Canadian recording artist and director from Toronto. Paul released his debut album "Saviors" in 2016 and his second album "Trigger Happy Heartbreak" along with an EP "SVDP 1" in 2017. He is part of Toronto-based artist collective, sideways which includes Coleman Hell, La+ch, Mad Dog Jones, and Michah. He is best known for his debut album "Saviors". ''Mercury'' is a 2018 Indian horror thriller film that was written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film, which has no dialogue, stars an ensemble cast that includes Prabhu Deva, Sananth, Remya Nambeesan, Indhuja Ravichandran, Deepak Paramesh, Shashank Purushotham, and Anish Padmanabhan. Subbaraj presented the film under his own production banner Stone Bench Creations, whilst Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios co-produced the film.
