Retouch (film)
''Retouch'' ( ''Rutuš'') is an Iranian short film directed by Kaveh Mazaheri, which was co-produced by Kaveh Mazaheri and Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS). The film is one of the most successful Iranian short films that won the Best Short Fiction Film Award from the Fajr Film Festival and the best international film festivals such as Tribeca, Krakow, Palm Springs, Stockholm, Ojai, Tirana and Traverse City. Retouch has enjoyed a successful film festival run, winning at three Oscar qualifying film festivals, including: Tribeca Film Festival (Best Narrative Short), Palm Springs Shortfest (Best Live Action Over 15 Min) and the Krakow Film Festival (Silver Dragon for Best Short Fiction Film). Kaveh Mazaheri
Kaveh Mazaheri (; born 14 September 1981 in Tehran) is an Iranian Director and Scriptwriter. He started his work by writing a film critique in magazines. After graduating in railway engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2005, he made his first short narrative film entitled "Tweezers". He has directed four independent short narrative films and more than twenty short and medium-length documentaries. Durban International Film Festival
The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. It was founded in 1979 by Teddy Sarkin and Ros Sarkin. Presented by Centre for Creative Arts at the University of Kwazulu-Natal, it is the oldest and largest film festival in Africa and presents over 200 screenings celebrating the best in South African, African and international cinema. The Valladolid International Film Festival, popularly known as Seminci (short for ; ), is a film festival held annually in Valladolid, Spain. First held in 1956 as ('Valladolid Religious Film Week'), the Seminci is one of the longest-standing film festivals in Spain. It stands out in the area of films d'auteur and independent films. The Chicago International Film Festival is an annual film festival held every fall. Founded in 1964 by Michael Kutza, it is the longest-running competitive film festival in North America. Sedicicorto International Film Festival
The Sedicicorto International Film Festival (sometimes stylised as 16corto) is a competitive short film festival held each October in the Italian city of Forlì since 2004. History In March 2004, the Sedicicorto Association was founded in Forlì by Gianluca Castellini with the aim to launch the first short film festival of the Romagna subregion. The project was born during a directing course held by an Argentinian photographer in Forlì, with Castellini as a participant. The first edition of the festival was established in October 2004. Tallgrass Film Festival
The Tallgrass Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Wichita, Kansas, specializing in independent films. It was founded in 2003 by Timothy Gruver. Gruver was raised in Wichita. He studied filmmaking at Brigham Young University. After college, Gruver worked for the animation wing of Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks studio. Gruver had worked for other film festivals and modeled Tallgrass after the Telluride Film Festival. Tallgrass is operated by the non-profit organization Tallgrass Film Association. There were 190 features and shorts screened in 2012. The festival takes place at several locations in downtown Wichita including the Orpheum Theatre. In 2012, over 11,000 people attended. DokuFest is an international documentary and short film festival held in the Kosovo city of Prizren, held annually during early August. It was founded in 2002 by a group of friends. It has since grown into a cultural event that attracts international and regional artists and audiences. Films are screened throughout the eight-day festival and accompanied by programs, activities, and workshops. In 2022, DokuFest became a nominating film festival for the European Film Awards in two categories, short film and documentary film.
