This is a list of House of Assembly results for the 2024 Tasmanian state election. Results summary New MPs The ''Expansion of House of Assembly Act 2022'' enabled the change of total seats in the lower house from 25 seats to 35 seats. This has resulted in thirteen new MPs being elected (ten to the new seats, and three replacing Lara Alexander, John Tucker and Dean Young who were defeated at the election). Tasmanian House Of Assembly
The House of Assembly, or Lower House, is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Tasmania in Australia. The other is the Tasmanian Legislative Council, Legislative Council or Upper House. It sits in Parliament House, Hobart, Parliament House in the state capital, Hobart. The Assembly has 35 members, elected for a term of up to four years, with seven members being elected in each of five electorates, called divisions. Each division has approximately the same number of electors, and shares its name with one of Tasmania's federal electoral divisions. Voting for the House of Assembly is by a form of proportional representation using the single transferable vote (STV), known as the Hare-Clark electoral system. By having multiple members for each division, the voting intentions of the electors are more closely represented in the House of Assembly. Andrew Jenner
Andrew Jenner is a British-Australian politician, currently representing the division of Lyons in the Tasmanian House of Assembly. Political career Jenner served as mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England from 2013 to 2014 and Deputy Mayor from 2012 before that. Jenner was the owner of Jenner's Cafe in Maidenhead. In England, he also served as a magistrate (a volunteer role which adjudicates on the same cases as a "magistrates" in Australia). Jenner was a Conservative Party councillor for Maidenhead Riverside ward. In 2016, he resigned as councillor to emigrate to Australia. Jacqui Lambie Network
The Jacqui Lambie Network (JLN) is an Australian political party founded in 2015 by Jacqui Lambie, at the time sitting as an independent senator for Tasmania. The JLN has contested multiple federal and Tasmanian state elections since its creation, running candidates in support of Lambie's populist stances and advocacy for working class " battlers", especially welfare recipients. Lambie was re-elected to the Senate at the 2016, 2019 and 2025 federal elections. Lambie's former staffer Tammy Tyrrell was also elected to the Senate on the JLN ticket at the 2022 election, but resigned to sit as an independent in 2024 after falling out with Lambie. Helen Burnet
Helen Christina Burnet (born 12 December 1964) is an Australian politician representing the division of Clark in the House of Assembly since the 2024 Tasmanian state election. Prior to this she was Deputy Lord Mayor of Hobart and a member of the Hobart City Council. A longtime member of the Greens, Burnet unsuccessfully ran in the 2010 and 2018 Tasmanian state elections for the party. She was elected Deputy Lord Mayor of Hobart in 2009, 2018 and 2022. Cecily Ann Rosol (born 2 January 1975) is an Australian politician for the Tasmanian Greens representing the division of Bass in the House of Assembly since the 2024 Tasmanian state election. Prior to her election, Rosol ran a counselling business called "Thrive Launceston", and has previously worked as a registered nurse. The Tasmanian Greens are a political party in Australia which developed from numerous environmental campaigns in Tasmania, including the flooding of Lake Pedder and the Franklin Dam campaign. Tabatha Badger (born 8 June 1993) is an Australian politician who has represented the division of Lyons since 23 March 2024. Badger is a member of the Tasmanian Greens and is representing several portfolios for the party. Pre-politics Badger is a small business owner and environmental campaigner.
