David Resnik
David Benjamin Resnik (born November 30, 1962) is an American bioethicist who works at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). He is known for his work on the nature of scientific misconduct. He earned his B.A. in philosophy from Davidson College, his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and his J.D. from Concord University School of Law. He taught at the University of Wyoming from 1990 to 1998, and directed the Center for the Advancement of Ethics there from 1995 to 1998. He then joined the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University (ECU) as associate professor of medical humanities and associate director of the Bioethics Center. He was promoted to full professor at ECU in 2002. In 2004, he left ECU to join the NIEHS. Hollis Resnik (June 1, 1955 – April 17, 2022) was an American singer and actress, especially in stage musicals. Biography Raised in Euclid, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland), as a young girl she studied piano and took voice lessons and performed with the Cleveland Symphony Children's Choir. Attending Russell H. Erwine Elementary and Shore Junior High School, she graduated from Euclid High School in 1973. She graduated from Denison University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. A Chicago-based theatre actress, Resnik was the 1992 winner of the Sarah Siddons Award. She appeared three times on the television show ''Cupid'', and had supporting roles in the motion pictures ''Backdraft'' and '' Little Big Top'', an independent film. In 1993 Resnik appeared in the Off-Broadway musical version of ''Wings'' as Amy the "sympathetic therapist". Judith Resnik
Judith Arlene Resnik (April 5, 1949 – January 28, 1986) was an American electrical engineer, software engineer, biomedical engineer, pilot and NASA astronaut who died in the Space Shuttle ''Challenger'' disaster. She was the fourth woman, the second American woman and the first Jewish woman of any nationality to fly in space, logging 145 hours in orbit. Recognized while still a child for her intellectual brilliance, Resnik was accepted at Carnegie Institute of Technology after becoming only the 16th woman in the history of the United States to have attained a perfect score on the SAT exam. She graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon before attaining a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland. Regina Resnik (born Regina Resnick, August 30, 1922 – August 8, 2013) was an American opera singer who had an active international career that spanned five decades. She began her career as a soprano in 1942 and soon after began a lengthy and fruitful relationship with the Metropolitan Opera that spanned from 1944 until 1983. Under the advice of conductor Clemens Krauss, she began retraining her voice in the mezzo-soprano repertoire in 1953 and by 1956 had completely removed soprano literature from her performance repertoire. While the Met was Resnik's artistic home, she worked regularly as a guest artist with other major American opera companies and with the top European opera houses, including La Scala, the Paris Opera, the Royal Opera, London, the San Francisco Opera, and the Vienna State Opera.
