Reshon Phillip
Reshon Shemar Phillip (born January 27, 1998) is a Canadian soccer player. Early life Born to Grenadian parents, Phillip started his career with Toronto Eagles SC at the age of 4. He later joined North Mississauga SC, with whom he won a U15 Ontario Cup. Playing career Having joined Toronto FC Academy, he was called up to Toronto FC II, the feeder club of the MLS side, in 2015. Phillip made his professional debut in a 2–2 draw against Charlotte Independence on August 30, 2015. He scored his first senior goal a week later, netting two goals in a 3–2 win over FC Montreal on September 5, 2015 in his first professional start, which earned USL Team of the Week honours. Toronto FC Academy, also known as TFC Academy, is the youth academy and development system of Canadian Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. The academy has divisions from U14 to U19 and includes over 110 young players. The senior academy team is known as Toronto FC III. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional developmental soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States and Canada, forming part of the United States soccer league system. The 2015 USL season was the fifth season of the United Soccer League (USL) and the first under its new name (previously the league was called USL Pro). This season represented a substantial expansion from 14 teams in 2014 to 24 teams in 2015, and the division of the league into two conferences. It is also the 29th season of third-division soccer in the United States. History In the late 1950s, the Bramalea development began, under the oversight of Bayton Holdings Ltd., then Bramalea Consolidated Developments Limited. 2016 USL Season
The 2016 USL season was the sixth season of the United Soccer League and the twenty-second season of USSF sanctioned Division III play organized by the United Soccer Leagues. On August 6, 2015, the league announced that the season would consist of 30 games rather than 28 games played from 2013–2015. This was the first increase in the number of games since the league went from 24 games per season in 2012 to 28 games in 2013. The league expanded from 24 to 29 teams in 2016. Six franchises were officially announced by the league: Swope Park Rangers, Orlando City B, Rio Grande Valley FC, FC Cincinnati, Bethlehem Steel FC, and San Antonio FC.
