RepTrak (formerly known as Reputation Institute) is a company that publishes reports on the reputation of corporations and places, based on consumer surveys and media coverage. It is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. History In 1999, Charles Fombrun, a professor at New York University Stern School of Business, and Cees van Riel, a professor at Rotterdam School of Management, founded Reputation Institute. In early 2020, the company changed its name to RepTrak. Cees Van Riel
Cornelis Bernardus Maria (Cees) van Riel (born 15 June 1951) is a Dutch organizational theorist, consultant, and Professor of Corporate Communication at Rotterdam School of Management and Director of the Corporate Communication Centre at the Erasmus University, known for his work in the area of corporate communication and reputation management. Biography Born in Tilburg and raised in Eindhoven, Van Riel studied Mass Communication at the Radboud University Nijmegen from 1973 to 1973, receiving his BA in Political Science, another BA in Economic History and his MA in Mass Communication. In 1986 he obtained his PhD in communication at Erasmus University Rotterdam for the doctoral dissertation entitled "Overheidsvoorlichting en Intermediaire kaders" (Government Information and Intermediary Staff). The reputation of a social entity (a person, a social group, an organization, or a place) is an opinion about that entity typically as a result of social evaluation on a set of criteria, such as behavior or performance.
