Reola is a village in Kambja Parish, Tartu County, Estonia. It is located about 9 km south of Tartu, the second largest city in Estonia, adjacent to Ülenurme and Tõrvandi. Reola is passed by the Tallinn–Tartu–Võru– Luhamaa road ( E263) and the Tartu– Koidula railway. Tartu Airport is located on the territory of Reola village. As of 2011 Census, the settlement's population was 174. The Reola Manor (''Rewold'') was mentioned in 1522, now in the adjacent neighbouring Uhti village. Uhti was first mentioned in 1299 as ''Huchten''. The Valge Kõrts (''White tavern''), from the 19th century, is a frequently visited historical attraction that is located near the highway, in Uhti village. Estonian Aviation Academy ( et, Eesti Lennuakadeemia) is a state-owned institution educating and training personnel for Estonian aviation enterprises and organizations. The academy is situated near the Tartu Airport in the village of Reola, 8 km south of Tartu. Instruction at the Estonian Aviation Academy is conducted in accordance with the standard curricula, meeting the requirements of the country's Ministry of Education and Research, as well as international agencies (ICAO, JAA, EASA and EUROCONTROL). Tartu Airport
Tartu Airport ( et, Tartu lennujaam) is an airport in Reola, Ülenurme Parish, south southwest of Tartu, the second largest city in Estonia. It is also called Ülenurme Airport due to its proximity to the village of Ülenurme. The Tallinn–Tartu–Võru–Luhamaa highway (E263) passes near the airport. History The airport was opened on 15 May 1946. A new terminal building was built in 1981, and the runway and taxiway were also upgraded then. Since 2005, the airport has been operated by Tallinn Airport Ltd. In 2009, the runway was lengthened to . In 2010, Tartu International Airport served 23,504 passengers. Luhamaa
Luhamaa is a small area in Setomaa Parish, Võru County in southeastern Estonia, on the Russian border. The Luhamaa border crossing is located on the European route E77 (road from Pskov to Riga). The official Luhamaa village was abolished in 1997 by dividing the lands between Hindsa, Määsi and Pruntova villages. The border crossing is officially located on the territory of Lütä village. On 5 September 2014 Eston Kohver, an Estonian counterintelligence officer, was kidnapped at gunpoint from the border checkpoint, while he was in the process of interdicting a crossborder crime. Koidula, Võru County
Koidula is a village in Setomaa Parish, Võru County, in southeastern Estonia, on the border with Russia. (retrieved 27 July 2021) It's located few kilometers northwest of Russian town Pechory. Koidula is the border crossing point of Karisilla–Pechory road (nr. 63), Tartu–Pechory and Valga–Pechory railways. Currently only Tartu–Pechory line is open to freight traffic, Valga–Pechory is inactive. In 2011, a new railway station was built in the neighbouring Matsuri village. This enabled traffic between Tartu–Pechory and Valga–Pechory lines without crossing the Russian border.
