René Olivares
René Olivares (born December 24, 1946, in Santiago) is a Chilean painter and designer. He's called the sixth member of the band of Los Jaivas. Biography Early life René Olivares was the son of René Olivares Becerra, a director of publication (Editora Nacional Quimantú and Laura Espínola. He grew up in Santiago. He didn't like go to school and loved to draw in his father's office. "I grew up watching magazines and my mother's painting books, in which I discovered the life of the cursed artists in Paris and dreamed of imitating them one day". He was 12 when he showed his drawings to the writer Marcela Paz, who was the director of Pandilla's review. She gave her his first job as a painter. When he was 19, in 1965, he got married and lived in Europe with his wife for five years. They lived in Paris, Roma, Madrid and got back to Chile in 1972. Providencia, Chile
Providencia (, Spanish: "providence") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago City. Los Jaivas is a Chilean musical group who perform in folk, rock, psychedelic, and progressive rock styles formed in 1963 in Viña Del Mar, Chile. They are considered one of the most important and influential artists of all time in Latin America. History The origins of Los Jaivas can be found in the family nucleus made up of the brothers Eduardo, Claudio and Gabriel Parra, from Viña del Mar. Together with their friends and classmates from high school at the Liceo Guillermo Rivera Cotapos, located on Calle Montaña (a few steps de la Quinta Vergara), Los Jaivas appeared in Chilean music on August 15, 1963, under the name of The High & Bass as a progressive-rock-andino group, mixing rock with South American ancestral music.
