A concept car (also known as a concept vehicle or show vehicle) is a car made to showcase new styling or new technology. Concept cars are often exhibited at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not be produced. Laurens van den Acker (born 5 September 1965, Deurne, North Brabant) is a Dutch automobile designer. He is the Chief Design Officer of the Renault Group. Biography Van den Acker studied at the Delft University of Technology, where he obtained a Master of Engineering at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. Career He began his career in 1990 as a designer at Design System srl in Turin, Italy, that worked on the interior of the Bugatti EB110 supercar. In 1993, he moved to Audi as an Exterior Designer in the Ingolstadt Design Center in Germany, where he met J Mays. The Renault DeZir is a Zero-emissions vehicle, zero-emissions electric car, electric concept car that was first officially presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The car is a 2-seat coupe with butterfly doors and the interior is finished in red leather. Renault Trezor
The Renault Trezor is a two-seater electric concept car with autonomous capabilities built by Renault which was unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The car secured the Festival Automobile International's Most Beautiful Concept car of the Year 2016 award. The car was expected to become a commercial product by 2020. Exterior The car's lack of visible seams is largely due to the use of its Bivalve shell, clamshell style roof which opens up to allow passengers to enter the interior.
