Renaico River
The Renaico River is a river that straddles the border between the regions of Bío Bío and La Araucanía in Chile. The Renaico River rises from the northwest flank of Cordillera de Pemehue, a western spur of the Andes Mountains, north of Tolhuaca volcano. In its upper course, the river parallels the east and north border of Malleco National Reserve. The river ends approximately 7 km downstream from the city of Renaico, where it joins the Vergara River. Tolhuaca (volcano)
Tolhuaca Volcano is a stratovolcano straddling the border between the regions of Bío Bío and Araucanía in southern Chile. The volcano has been shaped by glacial erosion, which contrasts with the relatively smooth slopes of its neighbor Lonquimay, due to the younger age of this latter volcano. The volcano dominates the landscape vistas of Tolhuaca National Park, but is not actually located within its borders. The volcano's slopes are covered in forests. Renaico
Renaico () is a city and commune forming part of the Malleco Province in the Araucanía Region in southern Chile. The city is located on the south bank of the Renaico River. Demographics According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, Renaico spans an area of and has 9,128 inhabitants (4,508 men and 4,620 women). Of these, 6,878 (75.4%) lived in urban areas and 2,250 (24.6%) in rural areas. The population fell by 0.8% (69 persons) between the 1992 and 2002 censuses.
