''The Swamp Meat Intoxication'' is the debut EP by Circus of Pain, released in 1994 by Sub/Mission Records. The band comprises members of Meathead and Swamp Terrorists and involved the musical contributions of Pankow and Templebeat. On September 24, 1996 the album was reissued by Fifth Colvmn Records. Reception Aiding & Abetting preferred the originals to the remixes of ''The Swamp Meat Intoxication'', saying "the remixes are nothing spectacular, really" and "just average German engineering-type stuff with a few bells and whistles. AllMusic awarded the album two and a half out of five stars and said "composed of members from Swamp Terrorists and Meathead, Circus of Pain play industrial-metal with S&M themes." Circus of Pain was the music project founded by Michael Antener, G.No, and Ane Hebeisen of the bands Meathead and Swamp Terrorists. Zalman Fishman
Fifth Colvmn Records was a record label based in Washington, DC. The label was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, owner of the nightclub FIFTH COLVMN, located in Washington D.C. The label's first release was Chemlab's debut EP Ten Ton Pressure. Jared Hendrickson of Chemlab also became the general manager for the label. Chemlab later played several dates with Nine Inch Nails, eventually attracting a distribution deal for their next release, Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, with Metal Blade Records. The band Thud was the next artist to join the label. A sampler is an electronic or digital musical instrument which uses sound recordings (or " samples") of real instrument sounds (e.g., a piano, violin, trumpet, or other synthesizer), excerpts from recorded songs (e.g., a five-second bass guitar riff from a funk song) or found sounds (e.g., sirens and ocean waves). The samples are loaded or recorded by the user or by a manufacturer. Schwann Catalog
The ''Schwann Catalog'' (previously ''Schwann Long Playing Record Catalog'' or later ''Schwann Record And Tape Guide'') was a catalog of recordings started by William Schwann in 1949. The first edition was hand-typed and 26 pages long, and it listed 674 long-playing records (see LP record). By the late 1970s, over 150,000 record albums had been listed in Schwann. The company was honored by the record industry both at the 25th anniversary (1974) and 35th anniversary (1984). The Schwann Catalog changed hands several times, sold in 1976, then again in the late 1980s to Stereophile, then to Valley Media in the 1990s.
